People complain that Goal Zero panels are a ripoff but if you look around at other comparable options they are are actually less money than the Renogy folding panels. Monocrystalline high quality panels, beefy aluminum case with reinforces corners, nice carry handle, beefy legs, waterproof connector box all add up to a solid panel. It's not super light but the folding size makes them easy to wrangle and transport. Plugged into the MPPT input on my Yeti 1000, I was able to get up to 70 watts from this in November (I think 80 watts is closer to the best you can expect). Avoid being lulled into getting flexible panels - they will fail quickly while these rigid panels should work fine for 30-40+ years. A few cons: - carrying case is just a flimsy sheath that doesn't fully unzip, panels are on the outside so be careful - kickstand has a fixed 45 degree tilt but in New England, we need closer to 60 degrees in winter so adjustable would be better (placing yoga blocks under each foot is a quick fix) - uses the GZ 8mm cable which is a pro if you have a GZ Yeti because these are waterproof and solid connections but you need to buy adaptors if you're using a different battery setup - cables are short, you'll likely need the 15 foot extension cables - I recommend combining 8mm panels into the Anderson connector because that extension cable uses high gauge wire - expect big losses with the 8mm extension cables ... show more

Goal Zero products are expensive. You can buy a 100w solar panel for much less than this; see Renology as an example. Have one of their panels and its great, and with the special adapter from Goal Zero it plugs right into my Yeti for charging. So why this one? A number of different reasons; have two yeti's, so can now charge each one at the same time, instead of one at a time. This has a very serious frame and protection for the panels. The connector is specific for hooking up to the Goal Zero products, so you can really use it with anything else - which needs to be considered. the wire is long enough that you keep your device in the shade with the panel in the sun. And the quality of the build is the reason I bought it. They do a seriously good job on building quality items. Let me rephrase that; these are all built in China, but designed at their place in Utah and their quality control is excellent as is their service. AM NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE STAND. It really only allows this to be propped fully open or keep it closed. Was hoping for something that would be more adjustable for keeping optimum angle of the panel to the sun. and it is for that it loses a star. The Renology panel will ultimately go with my camper as it is lighter weight and will be easier to mount on and off the roof. This will stay at home. ... show more

I successfully completed a 3 day camping with this along with a Goal Zero Yeti 150. I was able to top off the Yeti from 60% to 100% within 3 hours. This is with it in direct sunlight and 10% cloud coverage and ambient temperature of around 90degrees F. I'm not sure how much of the temperature impacts the performance but I thought it would be worth noting. The build quality is solid and has a fair amount of weight on it. Yep, works great to keep my ARB fridge chilled. Using with Goal Zero Yeti 400. Tested solar panel this week while at work. Put it on roof of my truck and got a max of 34watts!! Kept up w fridge and even charged the Yeti. I have full confidence it will keep me running the fridge indefinitely. The fridge is the only reason I bought the panel, I don't plan on putting more strain on it by using additional devices. Will add review after 3wk Utah trip 9/17! ... show more

In moderately good sunlight, this panel system put out about 55 watts, almost as much as the AC charger provides to the Yeti 1000. So, on a winter day with low-elevation sunlight, it was able to recharge the Yeti at a rapid pace. I kept the plastic bag and styrofoam packing boards and put them into the handy carrying bag to protect the solar panels from bumps and dings, since the solar cells are facing outwards when it is folded up. ... show more

I love all of Goal Zero products. I have the older Boulder 90, and now I've added this Boulder 100 to the mix. I purchased the Boulder 100 because the Yeti 1000 that I own charges quicker when I use two solar panels. I don't chain them, I plug each one into a separate input port. It's great that the Yeti 1000 has multiple ways to charge it. My Boulder 90 is mounted permanently. This Boulder 100 can move around outside to take advantage of multiple angles throughout the day. I like its portability, but it is a bit heavy. I'm thinking of purchasing the Boulder 50 for added portability, though it's not as powerful. I have my system because I live in northern New England where the electricity goes out about 5 or 6 times a year, sometimes for days at a time. Since I move the Boulder 100 around in the yard I purchased the 8.0MM INPUT 30FT EXTENSION CABLE. I found that I needed the cable right away, so I wish I had bought it at the same time as the Boulder 100. You can call the Goal Zero folks on the phone Monday through Friday with questions, or ask them online during their hours of operation. They are very helpful. I can only say great things about the company. I think the products are expensive, but I've found that they are worth the money. I also try to purchase open box products from their website because it's cheaper that way. ... show more

Style: Boulder 200 BC
I bought this to recharge a Goal Zero Yeti 1000, and although it works, there are a couple of significant drawbacks. The legs are fixed in size, and have no locking mechanism. You basically only have one position available to you, if that isn't what you want....tough. For charging, I found the system to be wildly inconsistent. It will charge, but for no particular reason, the input will drop to zero, then I have to "reset" it, to get it to start charging again. I would expect it to be a plug and forget system, but found I spent a significant amount of time having to ensure it was charging, and doing minor adjustments to the position of the panel to get peak charge out of it. The case it comes in is nice, but not designed for easy on and off, I found it works best with 2 people. It is HEAVY, if you have back problems, be warned. ... show more
