New edit: I had to return this twice recently because the tips were smashed flat. The most recent replacement fell out of the tube and onto the floor. Older edit: I still rate this lipstick very highly, but I just realized that Amazon places a “Go Ho Blue Lipstick“ label on each box of the black lipstick! I returned it twice this week, believing I was sent the wrong product. Now that I am aware of the fact that the black lipstick also has a “Blue Lipstick“ sticker on the box, I will proceed to open it before returning. ORIGINAL REVIEW (with minimal updated details): I am happy with the “Black Rose” shade—dislike the blue lipstick intensely. I am fair complected and the soft red stain left by the Black Rose shade looks wonderful on me—it’s not harsh or excessively dark. After applying and blotting with a tissue, I apply another brand and shade of lipstick that I actually want to wear over my freshly stained lips. When my chosen lipstick has worn away, my lips are still stained with color, which is exactly the effect I was hoping to achieve. No more trips to the ladies’ room for additional application of lipstick are required in the middle of activities! If you are like me and are not a fan of naked lips, you will be pleased with this product. Unlike long lasting liquid lipsticks, this product doesn’t flake or cause irritation, but it can be a bit drying, so use sparingly as a staining undercoat. P.S. I had tried the blue-colored lipstick in the past, which left my lips purple, rather than pink. It looked harsh and artificial and contained glittering sparkles, which looked cheap and tacky. ... show more

I used to get a similar product called Rhaiyabu black lipstick or something like that and it was a thicker formula with more opacity. I could literally put on a coat at 9am and l'd have a decent stain leftover at 2pm with zero reapplication. LLLLOOOVVVEEEDDD that stuff. It is now discontinued. I kind of don't know who I am anymore. This formula is much more sheer and alippy. It has a jive feel but the pigment and longevity don't touch the older option. That said, this does stain (thus the 4 stars). It's just not as long lasting or deep in color as the similar formula I was used to. It's glossy, and it seems kit it would be good for the "worn" lipstick look or popsicle lips. ... show more
