As a new person wanting to get into the laser hobby I did a lot of research on functionality and abilities of work bench lasers and ended up purchasing a 20 watt Gluwphy . When I unboxed it I noticed that the gantry was in an odd position. I thought, no problem I’ll just adjusted it, so I did. As I was learning how to operate the machine with Lightburn I watched lots of you tube videos and felt pretty confident with the basics. I tried all kinds of tests, bought a couple traces from Etsy but I would have poor results. I continued to struggle but couldn’t learn my way or adjust my way out of this problem. By now it was long past the Amazon 30 days so I thought I was screwed. Note: The machine was packed very well, but somehow the gantry was askew. Out of desperation I finally contacted Gluwphy Customer Support and got a quick response from Brian. I explained the problem I was having , what I tried, the calibrations I made and also that I had purchased the machine over 30 days ago on Amazon. Brian gave me a couple procedures to try, when they didn’t effect a correction he immediately offered to send me a new machine, I took him up on his offer. After only a couple days the new machine arrived ( at no cost), unlike the first machine, the gantry was in its correct position. Now being an “expert” at operating the Gluwphy I hit the ground running. The new machine worked perfectly. I have made several projects and have also helped my friend by contributing to a couple of his wood working projects . The 20 Watt Gluwphy turned out the right machine for me as a beginner and I am confident that it will meet my needs into the future. My only regret was that I hadn’t contacted the Gluwphy Customer Support folks earlier, I would have saved myself a lot of frustration and time. Please note: I have waited several months to write this to ensure the machine performed consistently, it has. Five stars for the machine and Customer Support.

Pulled it out of the box put it all together to find out the laser arm was bent!! From the get go I had the hardest time getting light burn or laserGLBR to even find my cutter! Once I did get it connected I started a test cut and instantly the alarm went off!! And the cut stopped! When I hit the return to home button the laser went so far it made this awful noise like it was going to jump out of the box!! I tried another cut and my square had a tail to it and it didn’t even cut!! This machine definitely is not user friendly!! I had it not even 24 hours and decided that this definitely is not the machine for me!!! Sent it back!!!

I bought this engraver to see how I liked laser engraving. I got an engraving job from someone and did personal things with it. After 35 hours the laser module went out. Gluwphy customer service gets 0 stars. I sent several e mails, left a voice mail, and chat you get a canned message giving the 800 number and e mail address, and now when I call the 800 number it says the call can not be completed as dialed. That could be a problem with my phone carrier. I have gotten no response from Gluwphy. This machine worked great until the laser module went out. You have to buy software to use it. I chose lightburn which is $99. There is a learning curve using it but it works well once you get used to it. I have been able to create a lot of nice looking stuff. Update. Gluwphy finally responded to my emails after 10 days wanting more information and a video of what was happening.

I have been using this laser for the past two weeks and so far very good experience. It came almost all put together, all I had to do was install laser head, duct exhaust and connect cables. Cross eirs make it easy to align projects. Exhaust works great when cutting 1/8 wood don’t get any smoke just a slight smell from the wood burning. It connected to lasergrbl without any problems.. I started with a 5w laser and this is a very good upgrade to. Project in video engraved at 10% power and cut at 50% power.

I was so excited to see the big box arrive at my door. Opening the box was fun!! Set up was easy. The instructions were nice to go by. The software set up was explained well in the instructions also. It performed well and it has a wide range from light to dark. Having the filter is the best - no mess! It is well worth the money spent! I will be busy making tons of projects!! So ecxited!!

Bought it as a new hobby toy, I never realized how much stuff you can actually make with a laser engraver. Goodbye all of the wooden craft projects I waste money on every year for my kids to paint. I can literally make an art project with this that is much cooler for the same price or less. Also, found out you can use permanent marker on metal to engrave it, and then alcohol to wipe of the rest that wasn’t hit by the laser. Now for the bad, there is a learning curve, but that’s to be expected with any electronic that uses a computer program these days. There are a ton of YouTube videos that instruct you exactly how to work the machine in addition to the ones they give. Overall, I feel very satisfied with the engraver!!!!
