Align the hole at the center of traction bridge to the firmly sticked traction gasket rod, set the nut knob onto the traction gasket rod and tighten it slowly until the dent part is pulled to a level that flushes with the surrounding surface. For some dents, the steps above may have to be performed for several times to complete the repair. 8. If the repaired surface is raised at a point, please follow the steps below:first, rub the raised point back and forth with your thumb until the raised point is flushed with other surfaces; if the raised point cannot be flattened with your thumb, then click on the raised point gently by using a knocking stick (in the posture of holding a pen) until the raised point to restore formation. Sometimes the procedure may have to be repeated for several times before well repaired.(Note: When using the knocking stick, do not put forth too much strength) 9. Once the dent is repaired, unscrew the nut knob, remove the traction bridge,and then remove the traction gasket. If there is any hot melt glue remained on the body surface, just gently tear it off with your hand. Paid for itself on the first use

My wife's car was hit in a parking lot and they left before she got back. There were no creases in the metal so I thought maybe I could do this. I decided to watch a lot of YouTube videos on using these before I made a purchase and I'd suggest everyone do the same. From what I saw, this kit seemed like it would do what I needed. I'll share some pros and cons at the end. The kit arrived with no issues and I came up with a way to practice before getting started. I have a 25 year old Tacoma that has a few dings. I started there and learned a few things. First the biggest investment you need to make is time. The dents don't come out in one pull. Also, if you don't wait long enough for the glue to cool, You've wasted time and glue. I found that starting with the bigger tabs was best. The metal dent lifter is strong and what I used the most. The the plastic puller works ok, but it's not as strong. The advantage it has is that the feet are farther apart and can help getting larger dents started. As you progress it gets a little challenging to see where you need to make your next pull from. On videos they show expensive lights you can get that do a great job. I found that a six in metal ruler, held across the dent, does a nice job of showing where your low spot is. If you have a metal putty knife or anything you are sure is straight, that should be just as good. Having a pencil to track your low spots to glue comes in handy too. My pros & cons on this kit. It came with an alcohol bottle, but it was empty as noted. Perhaps trying to ship it is a challenge, but no big deal as long as you are prepared. Alcohol is a must have to use the kit. A lesson learned was that 70% alcohol doesn't work well at all. Get 90% or better. The kit comes with two different glue sticks but no mention of what to use or when. I'm still not an expert here but I found that the black seems to separate as one piece when it releases, more often than the yellow. Also that it was easier, for me, to work with the black adhesive on the tabs on the white plastic puller that the ones on the metal unit. This is only because getting the black glue off the curved tabs on the metal puller seemed more difficult. You may have different results. Some reviews were critical of the glue gun. I had no issues. I had a spare already, but didn't need it. Do be sure to give it 10-15 minutes before you start by getting it plugged in before you do anything else. The kit includes a tap that seems a bit questionable. In videos I watched they were soft plastic or leather tipped. This one is plastic and comes top a point. I avoided using this as it seemed like it should have more of a rounded surface. Summary: Overall, the repair I did with this kit on the car was perfect. I have some more hail damage on the Tacoma I'll get back to, and maybe even get it painted after I'm done. There are larger more expensive kits available, but this one did everything I needed. If anything an upgrade to the plastic tap would be nice, but you can get those separately if needed. Hope all that helps. Oh, one more suggestion. If you have more than one dent try to work on both at the same time. The reason for that is the time you need to wait on the glue to cool down adds up. If you have two, or more, tabs cooling down at the same time, you are saving a lot of time on waiting. ... show more

Works with some adjustments

I had a very large (but not complex) dent in my front plastic fender and thought I would try this. It worked really well, but it takes some effort to make it work. First, as people have said, let the glue dry long enough to create a good seal. However, don't do what I did and let it dry 5 minutes - you may create too good a seal. I ended up having to spray the glue with the alcohol to get it to loosen enough to pry off. Second, the tools only give you a certain amount of torque and that depends on getting a flat enough surface from which to torque. Given how deep and wide my dent was, I might have been better off getting the more expensive kit that had the universal pull tool. I couldn't get the yellow tool or the white tool on a level sufficient to pull the dent out. I was really afraid the glue tabs were just going to stay on my car indefinitely! However, the yellow tool adjusts a little (I wish it had a longer center piece which could be adjusted for greater depths), and I managed to get the lower fender tab pulled out with that. The upper tab - I just couldn't get leverage. Finally, I got a kitchen towel and a wrench, wrapped the wrench in the kitchen towel so it wouldn't scratch the paint, and pulled the tab off (after spraying it with alcohol) that way. I was rather surprised - the whole top of the fender popped out with it, and the dent is no longer visible to the casual observer (I can see it but I didn't want to spend the time and energy to try to get it perfect). If you've got a lot of dents, definitely buy extra glue - my 3 tabs used up 2/3 of a gluestick - and as everyone is saying, you have to keep doing it over and over to get a good result. I figure I saved $300 so a little frustration and MacGyvering was worth it. ... show more

Sort of works but could be better read review

So this sort of works. I had about 3 dents in my SUV from a tree falling on it but they were not too bad maybe equivalent to getting your car hit by a door 3 times. The first try the glue came off the car dent still there. I gave it a second try and the first bigger dent popped out. I had two smaller dents well those were more of a pain. One sort of came out and the last one would not. The issue was not the glue sticking to the car. The issue was the glue sticking to the plastic pieces that you pull on. I figured it would be the other way around. So for bad adhesion to its own product, bag I figured was just an extra and the need for repeated steps to get half way decent results landed 3 stars. Now on maybe smaller or less forceful dents this might work better. My dents were on thinner parts but maybe being an SUV it was stronger than maybe a car idk. Great tool for the price.

I was quite surprised at how well this thing worked. At first I did not hold out much hope as I purchased this to pop a dent on a 1996 Yamaha Virago gas tank - if you are not familiar with motorcycle gas tanks, they are quite a bit thicker than your average car fender, unless you are talking about cars from the 50's and older. Apparently the previous owner dropped the bike off the center stand and put a dent large enough to lay your thumb in across a rounded part of the tank, but though there was a dent, the paint was perfect, so I thought I would try this thing. I watched a few videos online before attempting, I looked at the shape of the dent, picked the right 'arbor', loaded it up with glue and started with that gold colored squeeze lever puller. It took a bit of pressure, but all of a sudden 'bang', popped it almost completely out. A couple more pulls with smaller arbors in different spots, I can barely see where the dent was. Since then I have used it on a few of my customers vehicles - more as a courtesy as I am a residential type handyman, though I do wind up performing maintenance / repair on a few of my customers cars and bikes. ... show more

Ripped the clear coat from my car.

It totally ripped the clear coat off of my car. I read the (poorly translated from Chinese) instructions multiple times, watched numerous videos and followed all of the instructions to a T. The whole idea was to fix an area that didn't need painting. Now I'm going to have to pay more to get it painted than having the dent removed. It's a 30 year old Miata, but the paint is in excellent shape (except for this spot). I just reread the entire Amazon page and there's no mention of old cars or clear coat. BUYER BEWARE ... show more

Getting Frustrated with the Dent Remover? READ THIS!

Ok. At first, it was a little frustrating to get this to work. The glue wouldn’t harden, making it impossible to remove dents. But, we got it to work beautifully. Here’s how: 1. Be sure the car is COLD. Keep it out of the sun. 2. Apply glue as instructed and place on the dent. Let it set for a few minutes to harden. 3. Use the device to lift it up. Don’t worry if the glue stays on the vehicle. 4. Keep going until all dents are lifted. Your vehicle may look like it has a disease of some sort with all the leftover glue. But don’t worry. Your vehicle will make it out just fine 5. Now that the dents are removed, move your vehicle to the sun. Allow the sun to warm the glue back up. If it’s like today, it won’t take long. 6. Use the scraper to scrape off the glue. It’ll be super sticky. As it cools again, you’ll be able to remove it from the scraper (or fingers if you’re like me and cleaned the scraper with your fingers). A slight glue residue will be left behind. But don’t fear! 7. Use rubbing alcohol and a sturdy rag to wash the residue off! By now, your vehicle should be looking as good as new! See? That wasn’t so bad! ... show more

With much apprehension, I bought this. Now I'm glad I did!

I dented our 3 month old stainless steel fridge. I dented it at eye level and directly under high hat lighting in our kitchen. Stainless steel appliances dent very easily. Our cleaning service dented our old fridge in two spots. It annoyed me to look at it but what can you do? When our old garage fridge died three months ago, I moved the dented fridge out to the garage and bought a new one for the kitchen. Now the dents no longer bothered me. Who cares out there? Then I dented the new one myself. UGH!!!!!!! So I hopped online to see how to get the dent out. There was a myriad of ways but many pointed to this device or something similar. I went to Amazon to see what they had to offer. I selected this device and ordered it. The first thing I did when I got this was to watch as many videos on how to use as I could. Then I tried it on the garage fridge first. It was easy to use and pulled out the two dents to the point you could almost not see them. I wanted so more practice and put a couple of dents in a metal trash can I keep in the garage. Those came out even better. So then I was ready to try the fridge in the kitchen. One worry I had on this fridge was that I would overdo it and have an equally as big an eyesore as just having the dent. I went easy on this and pulled the dent out in about 5 steps instead of 1 or 2. You can't even tell there was ever a dent in the door. It looks like it did when it it was new. I was thrilled beyond belief. I hope I never have to use this tool again but if I do, I will feel very confident in using it. ... show more
