Description

The Scamp II is Giro's smallest helmet designed for young (or future) riders but it still goes big with features and style. Taking design cues from adult helmets like Manifest Spherical, this lightweight in-mold helmet features impact-dissipating EPS foam with a sturdy polycarbonate shell, plus 13 vents for efficient cooling power. The Roc Loc; Junior fit system provides extra adjustability with a simple-to-use dial for several years of head protection for fast-growing rippers. The XS is designed for riders aged 1 and older while the Small is for riders aged 5 and older. Whether they're rolling along in a trailer or powering the pedals themselves, Scamp II is going to make kids want more bike time.

This is a beautiful, quality helmet. Unfortunately, I have to return the one I bought. In the description, it says, Extra Small: "Complies with the US CPSC Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets for Persons Age 1 and Older" and Small: "Complies with the US CPSC Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmet for Persons Age 5 and Older". As I didn't see a size chart or other reference to size, I took this statement to mean the Small would fit a 6 year. (It only comes in extra-small and small.) My grandson is 6, but his head measures 21" which is 53.34 cm. The small almost fits, but not quite, certainly wouldn't be safe or protective. I had it delivered to my son's house, but i have it now so I can return it, and it says on the box "Youth Small 49-53 cm / 19.25-20.75". So measure your child's head, just above the eyebrows. Well fitted

Perfect for my 2 1/2 year old grandson. It is comfortable and stays on with the adjustable strap. He wears it without any resistance whether on the E-bike, the balance bike or even his little push cars. Safety first!

This helmet does not have MIPS

I should have read reviews from other buyers because I was also duped by the picture of the helmet which clearly shows a yellow MIPS sticker. The helmet we received did not have the sticker and was clearly not a MIPS helmet. It did seem to fit my 3 year old very well, and he told me it was comfortable, but unfortunately I will be returning it so I can purchase a helmet with MIPS. ... show more

Excellent fit

Fits really well. Tight without wobbling on the head. And also comfortable enough for a toddler to keep it on for a long adventure. Much improved over the Scamp I model.

No MIPS unlike image

Don’t buy!! The picture had a MIPS sticker however the helmet I received does not have MIPS! There wasn’t an item option for this helmet with MIPS (or without). This is very misleading.

The best toddler bike helmet

There’s only so many high quality options for young toddler helmets. This is my favorite. Has a lot of the features of adult helmets and comes from a well established brand known for quality.

Very well made - hope that it's as sturdy as it seems

Due to the nature of a protective helmet, it's impossible to really evaluate its efficacy unless there's an accident. What I can say now is that it feels/seems very sturdy and is easy to adjust for size.
