This kit was totally unnecessary in applying the window film to my front door. The instructions with the film said to use soapy water, which would have worked as well as the bottle of liquid they sent. The other "tools" were plastic; a single edge razor blade and a 6-inch ruler did just as well.

I'm half way through installing the tint on two windows and I've run out of swears, so I figure it was time to leave a review. The applicator is good, the spray is good, the blade is terrible. It doesnt matter how carefully you put the tint on, the blade will stretch and pull the tint and leave a jagged edge. Lookup how to make the spray online, get a credit card to smooth it out and dig out your sharpest xacto blade. Youd be better off. ... show more

This is pretty much a waste of money. Use an empty windex bottle and get a box cutter. The "cutter" that comes in this package isn't sharp enough to actually cut the plastic cleanly. Just leaves a score or worse a jagged edge.

The solution stained my wall below the window where I was applying a blackout film. I've tried a few cleaners and nothing will make the blue streaks go away. The kit also came without instructions or any warning that it may stain walls if not contained.

Bought this kit to install 12 Mil security film on 5 small sidelight widows but found the blade was not up to the job. It was simply unable to trim anything other than a few small pieces of film before being blunted. The solution and cloth were both excellent and helped with the installation, so it was not a complete waste of money. My advise is.. if you are trying to install anything thicker than 8 Mil film, do not buy this kit for the blade. You'll end up using Stanley knife or scissors.     • Do Yourself a Favor and Use a Gem Knife and some Soapy Water...

The spray applicator is good, along with the lint-free cloth; however, the cutting tool is just adequate. After one use, the tool is dull and the blade barely cuts the material. I had to resort to using a gem knife to finish the job, which was quite disconcerting. It would be much smarter if the production company included a tool in which the blade can be replaced, rather than having the consumer purchase another tool. Of course, that would mean less sales for them and a loss of revenue, but the customer would be much happier with the product and may continue purchasing more products from the company. But what do I know - I'm only the guy who has to tend with the deliberate errors of the money-making gods! ... show more

Only received the Gila GTA002 Window Film Application Solution, 16 FL OZ with a lint free cloth. Ordered the entire kit so it should have come with razor and the squeegee. The instructions that came with the film said to use soapy water in a spray bottle and that work just as well. No real need for this. Don't waste your money when you may only receive half the product anyway. The only plus is that when I submitted a return/refund request, they just refunded my money and don't require me to return the solution. ... show more
