I can confirm that these items are solid steel - they are strongly magnetic, so not aluminum and probably not an alloy of stainless steel. They are powder coated, which seems to be scratch-resistant, so the black finish should last pretty well. One of the ones I got had a slight bend in one of the the lower arms, which are used to guide and hold the power cord, if the angle grinder has one (some are cordless). It wasn't much of a bend, and was easy enough to straighten, but it shows that this 2mm thick steel is not necessarily professional quality. While heavy enough for home workshop use, it may not hold up to the demands of daily abuse in a commercial environment. The design is simple and straightforward, easy to screw to a wall or post. Also easy to move when you find a better or handier place to put it. It comes with a set of screws, which are OK, and drywall anchors, which should be thrown away. This should not be mounted on drywall, unless there is a solid wooden stud behind the wall, which you know you can drill into. So, a nice addition to the workshop that is adequate, but not exceptional. ... show more
