After receiving a slightly damaged unit due to shipping, the bevel initially wouldn't hold at 90 degrees. However, Skil promptly replaced it for me. First one must have been bounced around in transit the bevel would not stay at 90 degrees, but Skil sent me out a new one and after calibrating, I am getting accurate cuts and the shadow system is fantastic.. Very good saw for the price, excellent customer service!

I had high hopes for the SKIL 10" Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. Despite the promising features, such as the dual bevel and sliding capabilities, the actual performance left much to be desired. During my woodworking projects, I noticed significant issues with accuracy and precision. The cuts were not as clean as I had hoped for, and the angles were often slightly off, resulting in wasted materials and extra time spent on adjustments.     • Does what a DIYer needs

As a DIYer this does everything I'd expect from a miter saw. I'm not sure what miter saws that cost double the price can do that this doesn't. There's a ten inch blade, which is good but far from the maximum size. Otherwise, it's not too heavy to pick up and move around and from front to back is about 40 inches; it would be better if it could take up less space in the back. The build quality is excellent and it comes with a clamp built in. This also comes with a dust bag which does moderately well, but can be attached to a dust collection hose. Finally, the thing that makes it really a great value is the accuracy of its shadow line. Not only does it have a very accurate shadow that seems to be more accurate than a laser, there's a small "v" marking that allows the user to tweak the cut to the center of the shadow line. ... show more
