The media could not be loaded. I didn't realize the shadow that these cast was a cool star shape, it's actually very pretty. They are very well built with metal stakes and real glass. The solar panel is very large and really doesn't need a lot of sun to illuminate. This was a concern for me because past lights didn't absorb enough sun on overcast days and therefore wouldn't light up. Granted, these are the first semi-expensive solar lights I have purchased, all lights prior have been cheap walmart garbage that doesn't last. I bought this set of 8 to light the path to the front door. I only put 4 of them out and initially they all worked fine but now only 2 work well. The other 2 are either really dim or don't light at all, at least not for very long. They get as much charging time as the other 2 which are bright and brilliant. I will test the other 4 today and update my review. Any ideas why this is happening? I really want to love these lights! Update: I changed to 5 stars. The two lights in question were not working up to par because one was not getting enough sunlight to charge it completely and the other was in an area that was already bright enough so it didn't turn on. Once I moved them, they are working great. I just bought another set. UPDATE 2: The second set of lights are not as bright as the first set. They do not show a distinct sunflower pattern after just a few of hours of use. I placed them in the same location as the first set where I knew they would get the proper amount of charge to stay lit over night. The sun has been shining brightly for 2 days so these should be bright and brilliant therefore, I am changing my rating to 3 stars. I love these lights so I really want them to work. UPDATE 3: Much to my surprise I received an email from the seller regarding the second set of lights ... even though they are fully charged they do not shine very bright. They are sending me another set which I'm sure will shine as bright as the first set. I love that they stand by their products and go the extra mile to make sure the customer is completely satisfied. UPDATE! The support that Gigalumi gives is definitely 5 stars. Upon review of the instructions, it was user error induced breakage. There are clearly photos that show lights should be inserted using the stem not the top. I honestly felt bad after getting a free full replacement set since it was not due to product defect, but my mistake. They have repeatedly backed their product quality. I also have purchased the bell jar type lights from this company and they have lasted for the most part over a year with no maintenance. Highly recommend based on product customer support. I have changed my review from 3 stars to 5 based on their unparalleled service that is rare for many products. Thank you Gigalumi. once again. We will continue to recommend this brand. The positives...these are really pretty lights. The special pattern that they illuminate at night is really unique and gorgeous in a garden. Not really enough to light a pathway, but just what I was looking for. The negatives. OMG. The quality of the light/stake connection is bad. I had several break off and there was no way to fix without welding which I dared not to do. So I took the lids and put them over a bell/ball jar without the little metal disco ball and it still looked cute. Sadly I should have returned them. The second year I was installing the lights into the ground near the back step. I pushed into the dirt, it snapped off and I face planted into the cement step. Yep..thanks to the poor quality of this light ended up in the ER with a broken nose. But a good story that I can laugh about and entertain someone with this Amazon real life review. So maybe 2.5 stars and a huge ER bill later. Will be contacting manufacturer to see if I can get a refund for broken light. Probably won't refund for nose. ;) Good luck! ... show more

These are good lights -- and even come with 900mAh batteries. They are quite bright (almost too bright) and do cast a nice pattern onto the ground as pictured. What's good about them? The thick glass lens -- not plastic that will cloud over time and the metal housing that won't rust. They are solid -- in that after pushing into the ground, they don't wobble (be careful to push into the ground with the stem and not push down on the top). I have over 130 solar lights of different variety over a half acre of wooded parkland, and these are by far one of the best for their brightness and solid construction. ... show more

Love this new solar light. I bought this to replace my old broken wired light that tangle up everytime we are working on the landscape. These lights are solar power and very bright, also come with light shades that looks like stars. Easy to install with sturdy plastic feet and then slide on. Just make sure there are no rocks under since they could be damaged when hitting rocks. ... show more

There are eight posts and globes, a great price and quality outdoor decorative lighting. The pattern cast is very sweet and artsy. They came charged, just turn on by removing the globe to expose the underside of the top, there is where the battery is and switch. Easily with a turn the globe is back in place. the pointed stake is already assembled to the pipe that will support the light. Glass and metal, I chose the stainless steel.
