  • Great for a first PC build
The motherboard is great and comes with everything you need. This was my first PC build and the design of most things when installing is fool-proof. The black/gunmetal finish matches my build perfectly. The package comes with everything you would need. I was usied 1-sided m2 SSDs and of course they have extra thermal tape to lift the level of it. The documentation that comes with the package is not sufficient unless you know what you are doing. Refer to the PDF manual on the gigabyte/aorus website. My first boot was seamless with no errors, and for my first build that was a sigh of relief. I also like the control panel app they provide, super intuitive. The lighting is a nice touch as well and of course everything is customizable. Using this with an AMD 9950x3d and nvidia 5080. I did have to switch things multiple times before i figured out all the connections so I'll say its a pretty rugged design too, good for beginners. If they could cut out an installation step they did, no tools necessary for installing most things as they have sort of ez-lock connections. All in all the new PC is very fast and I'm glad I chose this board. ... show more

  • Good Board, Solid performance
Great board for the job. I purchased two of these and installed Ryzen 9 9950 CPU's with AIO water coolers. Love the number of options for the board and relative ease of management. I have not ventured into the overclocking setup as of yet. Disclaimer. The first order of this board I had to RMA for a bad memory controller. Replacement was easy and quick. New one running great and the second build with this board is in process. ... show more

  • Phenomenal board, seriously
I’ve used many Gigabyte motherboards over the years, but this one is hands-down the best. The build quality is phenomenal...this thing feels like a tank, and it’s continued to impress me the longer I’ve used it. It looks premium in person too, without the cheesy design choices you see on a lot of high-end boards. The onboard NIC is next-level. It’s easily the best networking experience I’ve ever had on a mobo: fast, stable, and rock solid. My Gen 5 SSDs stay surprisingly cool thanks to the built-in heatsinks, and thermal performance across the board is excellent. Gigabyte didn’t cut any corners here. From high-end components to a stacked feature set, this board comes with everything you could possibly need, and then some. I could keep going, but the bottom line is: this board is fantastic. Gigabyte absolutely nailed it. The only downside? Some system stability issues when enabling PBO or EXPO, but that’s more a result of the platform being new. I’m running a 9950X3D, and these issues are happening across brands. As BIOS updates roll out, I fully expect this to smooth out. ... show more

  • I would avoid if using multiple NVMes; this motherboard has not been fun.
I've been a Gigabyte customer for a long time, but this motherboard has been a pain. By way of background, I have a 7950X3D, 96GB of DDR5 6400, a Gigabyte 4090, an EVGA 2080, and a 1600 Watt Platinum PSU in this machine. I have a liquid cooling loop on this machine, so removing both graphics cards to troubleshoot problems was a nightmare. Firstly, the onboard ethernet sometimes fails and won't work until I fully turn off the PC for at least a minute. Secondly, the motherboard's M2C_CPU NVMe slot is essentially nonfunctional. I tried three different NVMe drives. On a cold boot, the motherboard detects them in the bios and windows. After running the PC for ~20-60 minutes, the drive will just disappear. Windows event log provides this information: "An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk2\DR2 during a paging operation." After restart, the drive will not reappear. Instead, you'd need to do a cold boot where you can only get another 20-60 minutes of use. I'm currently testing the drive in the M2D_SB NVMe slot, but unfortunately that slot just has slower performance and I bought a GEN5 NVMe. Not ideal, even if it works. Thirdly, the new fan connectors off the side of the motherboard can be easily bent. Be very careful. Very poor design choice. In my case, I realized I needed to plug in a fan after building most of the PC. When I tried to plug it in without removing my graphics cards, I accidentally bent one of the fan pins. Fourth, the rigid metal backing on the bottom of the motherboard, (which the x670E Master had), is now gone, so don't count on that being there. This isn't a big deal, but I'm listing my complaints. ... show more

  • X870E Aorus Master Great board. Bad drivers.
This is a great motherboard, looks good with or without rgb in your build, plenty of usb and nvme, good features, quick release works well. Biggest problems were with drivers. You must run Windows 11 for wifi7, they are not even making them for windows 10. Gigabyte's driver package doesn't work well so you can't install wifi during windows install, forcing you to reboot with OOBE bypass or hook up ethernet. Gigabyte control center is bad 5 years later. Hope they fix it but who knows. USB stick with drivers in the box would also be great. ... show more

  • Great board overall - very happy, issue with the t705 and seating properly in the m2 slot (minor)
Not much more I could ask for in a board - simple design, lots of features and just works right out of the box with my ram kit. I am VERY happy with the reinforced slots, but one thing I would change is the Primary M2 slot - the cooler included ended up hitting my AIO (Liquid Freezer 3), so i had to use the crucial t705 included water block, but modify the slot a bit by taking off the thermal tape, top allow the auto latch to click (the t705 had a built in cooler, that raised it a bit). Overall VERY HAPPY with my purchase. I'd say 4.5 out of 5 stars because of the height issue with the m2 slot (maybe include multiple heights??) ... show more
