The laptop performs extremely well, I get 540 fps on low settings on overwatch which is ridiculous at this price point, using dlss 3 I get 140 to 150 fps on the finals on ultra graphics. It's not without it's cons as the fan can be noisy and it can run a little hot but your not going to beat it at this price point! It's not perfect but punches way above it's price tag. It out performs all three 3060 desktops that my friends have by a good margin. Great for 1080p gaming, ultra settings and high frames, just don't expect to play 4k on it and it won't disappoint you. I've been using gigabyte laptops for years and this was a great upgrade from my 3050 which I gifted my brother who was playing on a 1050 laptop for Christmas. Don't listen to the 4060 naysayers if you can get it for around 900 or less it's worth it hands down. Wouldn't pay more than 1000 though as there could be better options ... show more

    • Good budget laptop
Had it a week and so far, so good. Running as expected. I haven't had the temp and throttling issues that others have mentioned about this laptop. Gamed quite a bit on Forspoken and Far Cry 6 and while the fans and temps do ramp up, nothing I would worry about. Keyboard and screen are good. While I am using a wireless mouse with it, I do like the larger trackpad it has, it just feels better using it than normal size pads. ... show more

    • Well-equipped gaming PC with cons
This Gigabyte G6 KF (2023) is the newest member of Gigabyte's G series of gaming laptops. Although it's a budget gaming machine, it comes with some desirable features. Up front it offers a very nice looking FHD 165 Hz IPS screen with 300 nits of brightness. Game graphics pop on this screen. Screen flex is minimal, and the case seems sturdy. Mine came equipped with a 13th gen i7 Intel processor, 16 gb of DDR5 memory, a 512 gb NVME M.2 gen 4 SSD drive plus an open slot on the motherboard for a second M.2 SSD drive, a multicolor <1 zone> backlit keyboard with comfortable key travel, an extra-large track pad, many ports and conveniently an SD card reader, a very quiet and effective cooling fan solution {except when playing demanding games}, and a powerful RTX 4060 GPU. For those planning memory or storage upgrades, I found that after removing the G6's bottom screws, it was easy to pop open the case to install a 2nd M.2 storage drive or for swapping memory sticks. Gigabyte has even provided a screw for securing your new NVME drive. My G6 out-of-the-box experience was made less than perfect because mine didn't arrive with Gigabyte control center software pre-installed and I had a struggle figuring out how to make that happen. After calling Gigabyte's customer service line, a nice lady was able to walk me through the process. It's IMPORTANT to note that when downloading the G6 KF's control center software, that you go to the Gigabyte software downloads page SPECIFIC to the G6 KF. The unified Gigabyte Control Center 3.0 software from the Gigabyte Global site will NOT work. The Clevo Control Center 3.0 software from the Microsoft store will NOT work. You need the control center software for this SPECIFIC laptop which is found in the software utilities download section for the G6 KF on the Gigabyte.com website. The software is simply called Control Center. You will need the Control Center software to assign keyboard led colors, adjust fan speeds, etc. Also, it would be helpful if Gigabyte would have provided a better instruction manual. The one supplied is only 2 pages, in very tiny print, basically just labeling external ports and features. At a smidge less than $1000 this computer is a fairly good value and is powerful enough to play AAA games at respectable frame rates. The best feature of this computer is its screen. CONS: I was disappointed to discover that Gigabyte's supplied 150 watt power adapter gets extremely hot when gaming to the point that the thermal protection circuitry inside the supply will shut it down. If you bought this GAMING PC to GAME, then plan on keeping a cooling fan blowing on the power supply while gaming or purchase a higher wattage power supply. That's what I finally decided to do. It cost me an extra $50 but now I can game without the laptop shutting down. Gigabyte really needs to step up and provide a more robust power adapter, at least 180 watts, with this line of gaming laptops. The laptop's internal speakers are not pleasant to listen to and I found that the supplied Ultra audio software doesn't do much to improve the audio. Headphones connected to the laptop give the best sound. Battery life is dismal. My next laptop will not be a Gigabyte. ... show more
