  • Read to learn how to upgrade BIOS and use with 11th gen processors.
***Update - I have purchased 7 of these boards so far, the last 4 boards shipped with BIOS version F.20. THEY DID NOT NEED THE BIOS UPDATED TO WORK WITH 11TH GEN.**** Gigabyte's website says the GIGABYTE B460M DS3H V2 supports 11th Gen Intel processors. They do not work with 11th gen out of the box! You must upgrade BIOS to version F21 or later to use with 11th Gen CPUs. There are two was to do this. 1) . Install a 10th Gen CPU on the motherboard and press DEL when computer is starting to enter the BIOS. Once you are in the BIOS follow the prompts to upgrade. You can download and save the BIOS to a USB drive from Gigabytes website. Once you have upgraded BIOS you can swap the 10th gen cpu for an 11th gen cpu. 2) Use the Gigabyte Q-Flash Plus button on the motherboard - This can be done with the a complete build using a 11th gen CPU or with the bear motherboard plugged in to the PSU 24 pin and 8pin cpu power. Download the F21 or later BIOS from Gigabyte's website. Extract the files. Copy ONLY the BIOS file to a USB drive(Usually named B460MDS3HV2.F21.) There must not be any other files. RENAME the file to GIGABYTE.BIN you must name it exactly that with the .BIN. Once you have the USB drive ready with the single GIGABYTE.BIN file loaded plug it into the USB port on the motherboard that is marked BIOS. With the power cable plugged into the PSU but the computer still turned off, press the white QFlash Plus Button on the motherboard below the PCIE slots. If done correctly, you should see a flashing indicator light near the QFlash button. DO NOT touch the computer until the light has completely turned off. (about 6 min). Once the flashing light stops you can press the power button to turn on the computer. ... show more

  • Good value for money, but care with GPU latch!
The latch is really hard not to break, it's still not an important problem but I was sad when its happened after only 2 days of use when I tried to change GPU.

  • Gigabyte for the Win!
Gigabyte's Ultra Durable lineup has always been a very solid budget option, and this motherboard continues that trend! The board is definitely a no frills component, for the system I assembled with it, it was perfect. But it's definitely fairly spartan when it comes to expansion slots. When it comes to gaming and general use, so long as you're using a lower power CPU, such as an i3 in my case, the VRM's don't get too hot, and the lack of VRM heatsinks isn't really an issue in my case, but might be for you if you plan on using an i7 or i9. Overall, this board was excellent for the build I put together, and if you have reasonable expectations of what you want the board to do, there shouldn't be any issues with whatever components you add to it. Absolutely gets a recommendation from me for anyone looking for a budget board. ... show more

  • Nice Board, Starting to cut corners
Gigabyte is always a nice board. Have built hundreds of computers using their MB. Feel this is overall a good board. Just feel they are using current issues to cut features just to increase profit. Surprised that it only had one Chassis Fan connection. The one up front was omitted. The label was there but not the connection. I am sure on scale this saved money. About .5 cent per unit. I would pay for that. Also they deleted a USB 3.0 port on rear. Again the fitting was there just not filled in. Another 1 cent saved. What will be manufactures excuse when normal returns? ... show more

... show more

  • Mixed feelings
The MB I ordered was DOA open box junk. Got a replacement and it worked perfect right out of the gate. I build mostly high end computers for gamers but this MB is not close to being good enough for that. I used this MB for a older person who is only doing email and online shopping. For that is is just fine. i7 10700k , 32 gig ram , 500 gig M.2 ssd. ... show more
