So I had been looking for a dinnerware set that was my exact simplistic style, but also had deep/wide pasta bowls. This set is perfect. Plates with upturned edges, generous cereal bowls, and an even more generous pasta bowl, with clean white ceramic that match perfectly with other white ceramic dishes I have bought to supplement what’s not in this set, like side dish/dessert bowls. The dishes are sturdy, weighted, smooth, and they’re even more satisfying to see in person. Upon receiving my package, the dishes were very well protected. Unfortunately, during my unboxing, I discovered a chipped dinner plate. I’m confident it did not occur in transit, as the dish would’ve been broken or other dishes, affected. Amazon wanted me to return the full set for a replacement and I didn’t want the burden of repacking these precariously packed dishes like Tetris back into its box all over one plate or risk a different issue with the new set. I also couldn’t just ignore a chipped plate in a brand new set. So, I contacted Gibson directly. The customer service there is absolutely amazing. After asking for various details and proof, the company sent me a replacement plate with absolutely no hassle! Now I don’t have to stress that I had three good dinner plates but four of everything else. If you like the set, buy it! You won’t regret it. I ordered this set due to the fact I had came across TikTok cooking videos and when they would plate the meals it looked so nice in the dishware. Personally these plates and bowls are not only aesthetically pleasing to look at, or plate. But they also have a nice quality to them. Not to heavy nor cheap looking. Plus the difference in variety (size wise) of the plates and bowls offers flexibility. The smaller dishes offer the ability to portion your sizes while the larger ones offer the opportunity to not overcrowd/fill your dish. It’s also a huge plus that the plates have a nice curvature to them makes it easier for scooping and plating as I mentioned before.     • Great basics for the price

I wouldn't get too critical about this set given its price point. These are chic looking basics at a good deal. There are some minor imperfections in the finish on a couple of the plates but I ordered 2 sets of 4 place settings there wasn't a single chipped item. Each set came in its own case and both cases were placed inside of a larger box and surrounded with bubble wrap. Said that, if you can't handle a box that size/weight, I recommend placing two separate orders for these. I love the look of these plates and they cost twice as much just about everywhere else. The high gloss finish is more durable than a matte finish but if you wash by hand and have a metal drying rack, I recommend replacing it with one that is plastic or has a rubber coating. Because of the lip around the plates, they barely fit in a standard drying rack (and only at a certain angle) and I can see them becoming scratched by a metal rack. I read another review that said these were not lightweight but I think they are, especially compared to any kind of stoneware. Our existing plates were the same diameter as these and I purchased that set specifically because they were lighter weight than most other dishes I saw. And while this set may be the same overall diameter, the surface area is greater because of the lip design instead of a flare. We have 90's builder grade kitchen cabinets that are smaller than stock cabinets now. All 8 dinner plates and all 8 dessert plates stacked and fit just fine. The bowls safely stack 3 high - 4 might be pushing it. I would definitely recommend for an adult household. Kids might chip the edges easily due to the design. These dishes are beautiful! Great quality! We don’t have a microwave so I can’t tell you an honest review how they hold up in there. But they are easy to clean, haven’t scratched, they do great in the dishwasher. On the bottom of each plate there is a label on them that does wash off but that didn’t bother me one bit! If anything I like things without a label! They are elegant and classic looking and make your food look fun and delicious! I hope these dishes stay in stock FOREVER bc I’d love to come back to this exact design as our family grows. For now, it’s just my husband and I. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ... show more

This set is durable and the slight black rim trim really sets it off. Amazon actually sent me one of my two sets plain white in error and I returned it promptly. I've used these plates and bowls for over 2 months now and they're okay if you're on a budget. They chip very very easily. I have chips on pretty much almost every single piece and I promise, I'm not being super rough with them. I handle them like I've handled every other dish I've had in my life, including delicate china and ceramics. But these chip like craaazy. Just keep that in mind.
