This is the second one purchased in 4 years. I'm pretty rough on phones and this waterproof cover has worked great. Over time, the mic port will get dusty and degrade the volume. After installing the new one, my 12 mini volume was incredible. If you buy one, leave the protective cover on the face. It will give you a little more longevity from your fingers constantly swiping the screen. Other than that, this cover rocks - and yes, it's very waterproof. I really like the Ghostek iphone case. Previously used OtterBox on all my phones. The Ghostek case is sleeker, easy to grip, and fits my iphone 12 mini perfectly. I have no “play” between the phone screen and the case screen and everything functions good. Seems to be a great rugged case. There isn’t anything I don’t like about it. If you have a BEARD...which I do...when making calls, the person on the other line will hear 'scratching' on the other end of the line if you move around while speaking.     • Worst waterproof case I’ve had

Good protection for drops. Thin material protects silent mode switch. Touchscreen works pretty good overall, but not great around edges. Audio quality is terrible, on calls and when I record video. People I talk to always complain, I have to use headphones for calls. Other waterproof cases I’ve had did not have this big of a problem. I must have a waterproof case and they are all not great, so if audio isn’t a big deal and you don’t use the silence switch often, this case will do the job, at least for a while. Update: after a month or so, I cannot keep this case. I have always had a waterproof case to seal out dust, as I work in a metal shop. I’ve had four or five before this one. None had such awful sound quality. People routinely ask what I’m doing when I talk to them on the phone. Videos I’ve taken with my daughter are ruined by the awful sound quality, which sounds like the wind is howling, or I’m rubbing the mic against a beach ball or something. For this reason alone, this product is useless to me! ... show more

I need a quality waterproof case for walking around outside in the rain (even if phones are now water resistant, I want to be extra careful) and this case has been great. My dog surprised me on a walk one night & my phone went flying - the case broke but the phone was fine & I immediately ordered a new one. I used that case for almost 2 years until it had a scratch across the screen & then a puppy chewed it. Luckily the case did it’s job and my phone still looks brand new after 2.5 years. ... show more

I got this because we were going on a cruise and I wanted my phone protected. It worked great and did what it needed to do. I bought my iphone mini because I didn't want a bulky phone. This case makes my phone bulky so I don't use it for regular use. But great for traveling around water.
