I couldn't justify the price of the named brand for my needs. I just wanted a small generator that I could take on my sailboat a few times a year to run an AC in hopes the wife would tollerate a few overnights on the coast. After a lot of web searching, youtube research, and review crunching, I decided on this little guy. What a great buy. It is light, quiet, and runs well. It is thoughtfully designed with all the buttons and switches clearly marked and a well engineered gas cap. When I got it, I put in new oil, ran it for the time prescribed, replaced the oil, very little shavings. I bought a little run meter so I could keep up with the hours. I haven't used it on the boat yet, but I've used it a couple of other times. Once to run a power tool, and once on a camping trip with our little camper trailer that doesn't have a generator. It ran the camper AC and lights just fine. A high doller camping trailer next to us had the high dollar named brand generator of the same size. Ours ran just like his, but ours was even quieter. Haha, that felt good. It starts within a few pulls when it's been sitting up for a while, and if I've run it within a few days, it starts first pull. Spark plug was broken but they give you a spare and when you put oil in don't measure the oil out and then pour it all in check the dipstick because there is a little bit of oil already in the motor and you must feel the oil to the full line on the dipstick or the motor will not run it will start and then after about 5 seconds it shuts off once you fill that oil to the full line the motor will continue to run. ... show more

    • Better then I expected!
I bought this generator because im currently housless and needed a source of electricity to be able to go back to school. This generator is better then I had imagined. On 1 gal of gas I can run it for at least 8 hours or longer. It's quiet enough that I am able to have it close enough so it won't get stolen. I especially like that it came with and extra spark plug, a bottle of oil, a funnel for the oil, sparkplug wrench and a screwdriver with both a Phillips and flat head bit. Make sure to change the oil and spark plug after your first run of the generator like they say because my sparkplug did go bad and it didn't want to start up but I changed the sparkplug and it started right up. This thing is also super lightweight and so easy to start so I don't have to have my bf around if I need to turn it on like I have had to have with past generators. I do wish it had an wattage an hour display on it but for this price I'm fine without it. ... show more

It does run a little ruff when not on load, but is steady and reliable so far with our RV. Runns everything in the trailer in eco mode, but cant be off eco to run micro wave. Is still quite quiet.

UPDATE: 10/3/23 We brought this item into the shop and found out there was a missing wire. The guy fixed it for us and didn't charge too much. Since then we have been using it regularly and it is really efficient, pretty quiet and is very lightweight. Was surprised it even runs our saws. It's a shame they don't have better customer service, we could have been using it much sooner. We purchased this as a backup for our bigger generator. We didn't try it right away but while still within the return window we tried to start it. Followed the directions to a T and even went back through everything to make sure, double and triple checked. It never would start. I was told to contact company who insist I send them a video of me trying to start it. We had already drained oil and gas to ship and this was a ridiculous request as far as I was concerned. I told them exactly what happened when I pulled the chord. They would not respond to emails or phone calls. The return window with Amazon closed and now I have a giant, expensive paperweight. This thing is so quiet, sips gas, like 12 hours on one tank. Charges up 4 12v boat batteries in about 4 hours. Very impressive performance, starts with one pull almost every time

I had to start it about 10 times when I first used it. It kept quitting after a couple minutes. There might have been air in the line longer than normal. Not a problem, I’m just letting you know so you don’t get nervous. After that 1/2 hour, it runs every time with 1 pull. It’s quiet and light. I would recommend. ... show more

    • Quiet and efficient
It’s a good little generator. I bought it to power my teardrop camper. I tested it out last week for a trip I have planned. I filled the tank and followed all start up instructions. I operated a 5000 BTU window air conditioner at full power on the generator for more than 10 hours on that same tank of gas. I was impressed. I’m not sure how many watts I was using from the air conditioner but I did have it set on max cooling. The only thing I wish was slightly different. What is the instructions on the dipstick for checking the oil . Luckily, I’m familiar with small engines and ignored the instructions. The instructions indicate to keep the level of oil above the scale, and then point to a line that’s halfway down the scale. Someone could easily misinterpret this as the full mark. Otherwise, everything was good and it even came with an extra spark plug . ... show more
