  • Super easy to install. Seamless design. Work really well.
Color: ROUND SEAT
I've been considering purchasing a bidet toilet seat for a while now and I finally pulled the trigger, and I'm glad I did. I didn't think that spending $1000+ for a top of the line, heated, drying, bowl cleaning, remote controlled system was worth it. So I figured this was a good entry level option. Now that I have it installed and had the chance to test it out, calling it "entry level" would almost be a disservice. Installation: Very straightforward (if you take the time to read the instructions first), taped the seat template to the exact position I wanted, then screwed in the adapter plate. Seat snapped right into position. If you need to readjust the position, know that the button to release the seat from the adapter plate is on the right hand side. Before installing the T-connector or white water hose, remember to check the rubber washers and filter in connectors and make sure they aren't crooked and fully depressed. I removed the white regulator cover and o-ring (2nd picture) from the seat, using some needle nose pliers, and then reinserted just the regulator component. I figured more water flow is better than less. After everything was hooked up, I turned on the water, and check for leaks. there were none. My guess is that some of the leak complaints are due to not checking the rubber washers first, making sure they are present, and properly seated. Also, could be due to over tightening using tools, instead of hand tightening only, as instructed. One trick I did was I saved the plastic wrap that came on the seat and placed it over the seat and then turned on the system to check flow. I was happy to see that everything was working and that the jets of water seemed to be strong. Design: (1st picture) What I really like the seamless design. Someone just commented to me that they didn't even know I had installed a bidet toilet seat. Which is exactly what I was going for. Also, as a nice bonus, both seats are soft close, so now I don't have to worry about accidentally slamming the seat down anymore. Also, due to my small footprint in my bathroom, I have a round toilet seat, and I really like that the seat is tapered and thinner in the front, providing a little larger open area over the bowl when sitting. Operation: My initial thought was that the water would be too cold but temperature turn turned out to be just fine. The water volume is more than I need and I don't need to turn the lever to full in either direction. I've used bidets in several hotels and I can say that the pressure is higher than those. Definitely enough to get everything clean without wiping. You only need a small amount of toilet paper for drying off. Being a man, I really can't speak to the front cleaning's effectiveness, but can say the nozzle is more of a spray vs. a concentrated jet for the rear. Maintenance: The "self cleaning" nozzles is just a small flow of water over them as they retract. So I'm assuming they will need to be cleaned periodically with a brush. The instructions say they can be pulled out, but I didn't see how you could do it by hand, so I used a pair of tweezers to test (3rd picture). Also, you can order replacement nozzles if need be. Cons: I'm assuming this is a problem for any bidet toilet seat, but since the water sprays upward it can ricochet and ends up on the underside of the seat (4th picture). So that area will need to be wiped off after each use, leading to more toilet paper usage. I'm not a physicist, but I'm assuming that's pretty unavoidable. Overall: This was a great purchase. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. It's so much more sanitary than wiping with dry toilet paper. I recommend that you test your water flow and potentially remove the regulator cover and o-ring. Lastly, I would recommend this to anyone as it's an affordable, easy to install option, that doesn't require electricity. And most importantly, it works well and is effective. ... show more

  • Worked the first time and every time.
Color: ELONGATED
First a little background upon myself. A year and a half ago, I woke up at 3 in the morning in excruciating pain that lasted about an hour before becoming paralyzed from the waist down. Emergency surgery 3 hours later on my back but the damage to my spinal cord was already done and the prognosis was not good. 80% chance of walking again and possible return of my body functions. I wasn’t going to take this laying down and long story short, I am now walking with a cane and 90% of by body functions have returned to some degree. During this period I had extreme difficulties taking care of my personal hygiene and still do due to the fact that I have no feeling from the waist down and only 30% of my leg strength back. In May of 2018 I asked my Plummer to look into a portable bidet after looking around on the internet. He came back with a pretty expensive model that had plenty of bell and whistles on it that did a great job for me and was defiantly an answer to my problems, however, all the extras were not really used and the washing function was all I really needed. One issue with that one is that I had to send it in just after 3 months for service, did without anything for 6 weeks, then it repeated the whole thing again 3 months later….back for service twice in the first year and the bumper to bumper warrantee has ran out. Freight and half of the service charge would be on me now. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great piece of equipment that will cleanse you, warm your water, deodorize, blow dry you with warm air, and warm your seat and a couple other thing that I will never use. Yes you guessed it, it’s electronic and as all electronic devices go, prone to failure. Looking for an backup unit without spending $500.+/-, I came across the various bidet’s on Amazon that offered many variations but all were the some basic function and that is to cleanse your posterior when it nearly impossible to do yourself. Looking them all over and reading the reviews, I settled on the Genie Bidet because of several factors. Easy to install which I did myself with a little difficulty due to my mobility, the isolation valve that shuts the water off to the bidet and not to the toilet, choice of water pressure, the ease of removing the seat to clean, and the seat is very light to handle. The installation video really played a big factor in my deciding on the Genie though. The tap water used is not a problem being cool and really never needed heated water that the other bidet I have can provide. I like the feature that allows me to adjust the water pressure from the nozzle and my house line pressure is adequate for cleansing. I have only had this unit for a week now but it is my “go to” bidet vs. the electric one. The seat is very comfortable and easy to move around on to “find your spot”. The learning curve for this the Genie is very low. So far I am completely satisfied with the Genie Bidet and the only concern I have is I am a tad bit worried about the thickness of the material of the lid as far as sitting on it for dressing purposes. Time will tell. In conclusion, the Genie is well worth the money if you are seeking a bidet that is in the mid price range that has very few moving parts that means less down time if you do experience a problem. Having 2 bidets’s to compare cleansing, each does an equal job but all the extras you pay for that generally isn’t used, I recommend the Genie Bidet as an economical alternative. ... show more
