First off for the price point this set is made very durable and very smooth to use. Second the slide is made out of stainless and the display is easy to see and change. Lastly General made a very sound caliper and would highly recommend if you are in the market for a pair.

Easy to use, readings, and accurate enough for my needs. Though I was under the impression that I was purchasing a USA made tool, but it's not. Still, for the cost, I'm good with it. Handy tool to have for different measurments.👍

Had several calipers over the years and they weren't anywhere close to the quality of this heavy stainless steel unit, easy to open and close with precise movement, even the battery cover heavy and set in place with a set screw. I also love the 3 modes of units, really like the fraction display. My prior one I bought at a woodcrafting store and was told it was quality but when i went to actually use it one of the plastic operating buttons had fell out and the unit would no longer power on. I also love that it comes with a hard case as these are somewhat delicate and need some level of protection to ensure they remain accurate. In fairness, I used this one once to measure something the day I received it but can spot quality when I see it. ... show more
