Unit good quality and working fine
They shipped the wrong one but took it back and replaced quickly. If we hadn’t enough needed it and were Gonna use it for a back up it would’ve been a nightmare. But everything worked out great.

Perfect at a great price
The original was zapped by lightning. Tech said not to spend $700-$800 on a new one from Generac as only the battery charging module was damaged. he said to use an external charger but we had to replace those every few months. Got this on Amazon for much less than from Generac, easy to install, works perfectly.

Frozen screen
My 2013 home standby generator had been out of commission for a while before I realized the problem. Then when trying to fix it the screen froze and wouldn't do anything. I tried unplugging it to reset it and that didn't work. This is a good chunk of change, but nothing compared to the value it adds to the house so I bought it. Changing the parts was fairly easy, but there is a small screw at the front that secures it that I missed. Luckily I didn't break anything getting the old one out. Putting in the new one was mostly just matching up the plugs and then replacing the frame part. Sure enough! I switched it to manual and punched in the date and language and then it fired right up. The old part lasted out in the Texas weather for 10 years. If this makes it another 10 years it'll be totally worth it.

Added install information would be helpful
The original Controller was superceded by newer revision. Knowing this would would have been helpful and alleviated the panic when the new controller arrived. Also, there is (was) a sequence to installing the controller, and again this would have been helpful if this information had come with the new controller. Fortunately -UTUBE provided a short video on how to install the new controller. With that in hand, it took about 15 minutes to remove the old one and install the new. Saved about $250 by doing the install.

This controller works perfectly
I accidently left the lid open on my 14kw Generac and we had a light rain. My Generac is approximatly 10 or 12 years old. The controller was part # 0J8371A. The controller got enough water to make it non functional, and that was minimal water. Lesson learned. The Replacement 0J8371C was an easy replacement, make sure to remove the 1/4" screw under the front lip. The C version had an additional plug on the bottom of the board that was left unused, but as I said it works perfectly.

Evolution 1
Bought one. Could not get it to work. Bought another one, still didn’t work so I sent it back. Controller just says it can’t read harness resistor (used to identify product). Finally I called a repair guy, took a month for him to come out to my remote property. He fixed it in 10 minutes. Said this was an Evolution 1 controller, my Generac is Evolution 2. So now I have a 3 month old Evolution 1 controller I can’t use or return. Selling it on eBay for half what I paid. This popped up when I searched for Evolution 2. It doesn’t say in the description what it is. Wasted hours and money.

Works perfect.
I bought this because the keypad on my generator quit working. Instead of getting a repair guy out and paying for his diagnosis and the obvious markup in price for the part, etc. I decided to take the controller out and inspect it myself. Sure enough, I found a ribbon connector from the keypad to the controller board had fell apart. After days of searching, it seems like there's no way to get the exact piece I needed to fix it, so unfortunately I had to buy the whole controller. It was cheaper on here than any other place I found so I went ahead and got it. It's worked flawlessly so far and was easy enough to set up because you don't need a special dealer code or anything as it's preprogrammed to work out of the box.
