Description

The GEARWRENCH family of torque wrenches & torque products offer the latest innovations in torque measurement. Included in the line are micrometer, tire shop, beam and electronic torque wrenches, as well as, torque multipliers. The micrometer wrenches are available in fixed head and flex head. The fixed head line offers wrenches in 1/4" to 3/4" drives. The flex head wrenches are available in 3/8" and 1/2" drives. The tire shop wrenches feature a rugged tire tread rubber cover on the head intended to specifically be used for checking wheel lug nuts and are available in 3/8" and 1/2" drives. The electronic torque wrenches ensure a more precise fastener torque level and are available in a 3/8" and 1/2" drives. The GEARWRENCH line of torque products allow the user to complete any job where accurate torque is required.

    • Takes 3xAAA batteries, not 2xAA - Good wrench compared to click-style

Took a while to get it turned on because the first two sets of batteries I tried didn't work, but the third set did. For the record, the 1/2" drive fixed-head wrench uses three AAA batteries, not two AAs as per the Amazon description. After a quick trial, it seems to work well. The vibration is a little weak for my liking, if I had the option I would probably just turn it off because I can't really feel it through my gloves. It's a very weak, high-frequency vibration with a loose and almost tinny-sound rather than more of a strong, tight vibration from something like an iPhone or Playstation controller. Aside from that, the light isn't that great either as it's a small, individual LED on the screen so unless you're looking directly at it, you won't notice it. I think if GearWrench ever upgraded this model, an LED ring around the top of the handle would work much better. I think it's an okay torque wrench for the money. It feels solid and the ratchet action is tight and smooth so you can always get a nice angle to torque your wheel lugs. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought this product specifically because it was able to be adjust at lower torque specifications. I would say the instructions it comes with aren’t the best, but it’s fairly intuitive. When you input a torque specification, it stays in the memory and loads to that last setting. This is important because the unit auto shuts off after a a minute or two of inactivity. It has lights, sounds, and vibration feedback as you approach your specified setting, so it’s pretty simple to use. I was a big fan of these features. Plus, the digital display shows in realtime what the current torque rating is at as your torquing the wrench. Highly recommend! ... show more

Literal garbage. Sent it back. Thing was freaking out and buzzing and would not stop. Completely useless. There was no way to make it stop, or zero it out. It would automatically register 30ftlb without even touching it. Quality isn’t the best, Chinese as usual but very expensive and overpriced for the quality. Functionality: it worked great for five minutes and then it decided it was time to freak out and never stop. Even turning it off and on didn’t help. Not only annoying but embarrassing, the alarm is loud as hell and you can’t turn the volume down. I am extremely careful with my tools and have worked with hundreds of different tools, this one was probably THE WORST tool I’ve ever used. Seems like there’s no quality control. The buzzer is really annoying and unnecessary. Just a simple beep is more than enough to tell you it’s tight. We are over complicating something that doesn’t need to be. GearWrench's 3/8" Flex Head Electronic Torque Wrench with Angle, 10-100 ft/lbs is one great tool that will make your widen the continuum of jobs a DIY mechanic can do. The design, finish and execution of this product speaks volumes of a premium product that it is. This is a very close competitor to the products industry professionals use after paying thousands of dollars yet GearWrench only costs a small fraction while retaining similar quality, execution, fit and finish. The user-interface torque wrench is intuitive enough that I started using it the moment I unboxed it without even having to read through the manual it comes with. It needs two AA size batteries which is awesome because AA size batteries can be found everywhere. The product does not come with AA size batteries though.
