Description

The GEARWRENCH family of torque wrenches & torque products offer the latest innovations in torque measurement. Included in the line are micrometer, tire shop, beam and electronic torque wrenches, as well as, torque multipliers. The micrometer wrenches are available in fixed head and flex head. The fixed head line offers wrenches in 1/4" to 3/4" drives. The flex head wrenches are available in 3/8" and 1/2" drives. The tire shop wrenches feature a rugged tire tread rubber cover on the head intended to specifically be used for checking wheel lug nuts and are available in 3/8" and 1/2" drives. The electronic torque wrenches ensure a more precise fastener torque level and are available in a 3/8" and 1/2" drives. The GEARWRENCH line of torque products allow the user to complete any job where accurate torque is required.

I've used this torque wrench to replace the timing belt and camshaft seals on an iForce 2UZ-FE and a couple of German suspension jobs. The flexing head is really useful for tight spaces and the red and green warning lights are bright enough when you're in tight spaces. Sure, it doesn't have lights on the side of the wrench so it can be a little difficult to see if you're bout to hit your spec, but the rhythmic vibrations kind of help once you get accustomed to it. There is a 90 second shutoff, which can get a little annoying but it does help conserve battery life. The white markings on the buttons must be indestructible because I've covered them in dirt, grease, and oil for weeks and after a quick wipe they're back to bright white. Now, this is still a digital torque wrench which means you need AA batteries. Which sucks because if you forget to take them out, you could destroy this $200 wrench. That said, it's 2024. Rechargeable batteries exist and they don't leak battery acid everywhere. Buy a pack and rotate them out. I still take mine out because it's a good habit to get into. Harbor Freight offers a wrench like this for a bit less but it doesn't have angle and what's the point in buying a digital torque wrench if it doesn't have angle? I'm biding my time to get the GW 1/2 version for a good deal. If you're a DIY guy or a Semi-Professional like me who's not working on cars enough to justify selling both kidneys to pay off a 96-mo lease on a Snap-On digital torque wrench. This is the perfect example of getting more than your money's worth. ... show more

I will start with what i don't like, I am very old school, I still like the click type, its distinct and noticeable, you got to be so out of it to over shoot the torque setting. The new digital ones, yes it vibrates, yes LCD screen changes color, but the vibration is not as noticeable, ( too soft ), yes it beeps, if your working environment is not quite, you are likely to miss the beep, and could lead over torque, specially ones require lesser of torque.. this is the only complaint I have..for this matter its one star off... Here are the things I like I specially like the price, way cheaper compair to ones sell from tool truck.. I like the accuracy of this tool, along with the flex head. I think this is a key aspect of a precision instrument. I like the fine tooth gear rachet head, I like the aluminum handle, its grippy its solid. I like it can do all the conversion from ft lb to inch lb to Nm, of course within the minimum and maximum capacity of the torque wrench. I like it degree setting is also be able to achieve by few press of buttons. I also like It comes with a nice storage box, I take battery out each time I using it for that day.. I have had this torque wrench for a while now and I can say I have no complaints at all. I like the grip, it doesn’t slip when your hands are less than clean. It is accurate in torque settings. I like the adjustability it gives you. For example the point at which it starts to alerts you that you are approaching the torque limit. Nice case too. ... show more

I bought this torque wrench for my husband because he’s the main “garage guy” while I juggle the kids and errands. Online it looked super sleek and accurate, so I thought it would make his weekend car projects easier. It works, but the flex head feels a bit loose and the handle is bulkier than we expected. He had to fight with it a little while tightening the lug nuts on our van in the driveway, which kind of defeated the point of “easy.” The beeps are also quieter than we thought, so he missed the click a couple of times with the kids yelling around us. I am unbelievably disappointed, I expected so much better from GW. It starts alerting you a couple ft lbs before with a slow beep then 1FTlbs away it went to a faster beep, when I hit my torque or went past? No change no solid beep, nothing. I bought a Suzume on here for less than $90 and it alerts me just before and right at torque with a solid beep. However, it looked cheap. So I wanted to buy a more reputable brand. Who would have thought this thing is a POS. It looks and feels great. The alerting? Actual garbage. It is amazing this tool has such a high rating and that GWs QC would allow this trash to sully their name. Was was my first gearwrench tool, will be my last. The only reason I could see someone buying this is for the angle measurement only. Do better truly. ... show more

My coworker has a snap-on torque wrench about the same size that I used to borrow, and I honestly prefer this one. The snap-on has some features this lacks, but this has features that the snap-on lacks.
