  • Qoiut waiting just buy these now
Size: 12 Pc Style: With Wrench Rack Pattern Name: Metric
First day, used these for harder to reach situations which is common on today's vehicles. What a difference as opposed to straight fixed ratchet wrenches. A thought occurred to me that I might retire my fixed head ratchet wrenches to home use now. these wrenches really are a must have in modern times. Engineers make vehicles difficultnto work on like it's a goal. These flex head ratchet wrenches are worth it for how they make hard to reach fasteners manageable. I don't know how I have been able to do without them now that I have them. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • These saved my bacon!
Size: 12 Pc Style: With Wrench Rack Pattern Name: Metric
Recently I undertook what was supposed to be a pretty easy maintenance job on the car. Well, that job expanded into something a bit bigger, and having these wrenches really made it a lot easier to accomplish. I am not a mechanic, and do not used these wrenches in that environment, but for someone wrenching on their own vehicles, these are very nice to have. They have a good feel in the hand, and I had no issues with them slipping. I wish they had a longer reach, but I'll take care of that with another set. These can be a good addition to your toolbox. ... show more

  • So far they're holding up!
Size: 12 Pc Style: With Wrench Rack Pattern Name: Metric
I haven't used them as much as I would like to(it is funny because at the amount of times we turn wrenches varies), but I digress. First off I checked for the infamous slop in the smaller/all flex heads right out the package, none found. Used the 10mm & 12mm for a few battery replacements, so far so good. The 19mm I use the most. When I rebuild coupler heads for Light Rail Vehicles there is always grime, grease and spray cleaners. It has been filthy and covered in all the above more than a few times and it hasn't complained. I still give them 5 stars but I could have done without the "grip ridges" on the tops of the wrenches. Some are neat and some are pretty off centered/tapered. As long as the wrenches hold up I am ok I wear gloves and can't feel them anyway. ... show more

  • Works great, a little bulky
Size: 16 Pc Style: With Wrench Rack Pattern Name: Metric
It works well when you have plenty of space around the nut or bolt but if it's a tight fit the box end of these are pretty bulky when compared to others racheting box ends but still on sale as a great value

  • How did I get along without these?
Size: 16 Pc Style: With Wrench Rack Pattern Name: Metric
Wow. What a great set of wrenches. I was given a smaller set of the non-flex head version of these wrenches several years ago as a gift and have used them so much, I decided to buy this larger, flex-head version. These things really let you get into tight spaces (can you say 4th Gen 4runner upper rear shock mount?) that sockets won't go and get bolts/nuts off fast without having to constantly reposition the wrench. I find myself using these wrenches more and more in places where I normally would have used a ratchet and socket. They are very strong, I've used them to remove and tighten things where I've really had to put some torque the fastener and they've held up well. At first I was concerned about the flex part being the weak link and breaking or spreading, but I haven't had any issues. The only problem I had was using the 19mm once when loosening a lug-nut (I was too lazy to get out my impact gun) and the ratcheting mechanism got "confused" and wouldn't ratchet, but a quick smack on concrete floor fixed it. It got the lug nut off and I haven't had any more problems. I know I've used some of the smaller size wrenches to torque things waaaay more than they should be, and wrenches haven't missed a beat. You do have to be a little careful when applying a lot of force to tighten/free a fastener to make sure that the head doesn't flex on you when you don't want it to or you may end up busting a knuckle (but hey, it hasn't been a productive weekend of wrench turning unless you have at least one bloody knuckle). There is a allen screw that serves as the flex pin that you can adjust to loosen/tighten the flex so you set it to what's comfortable for you. The "ridges" on one side of the wrench to help you feel if the wrench is tightening or loosening is just a marketing gimmick (at least in its current design). Yeah, they're there, but if you have gloves on you're not going to be able to feel them. And if you're like me, even if you could feel them, you're always going to give the wrench a quick turn to find out if it's tightening or loosening.....and you'll always have it backwards and have to flip it over! The plastic holder it comes in is nice and does a decent job of keeping the wrenches organized in your tool box, but I bought another wrench tray that stacks the wrenches a little closer together and doesn't "grip" on them to make getting them out just a little bit easier. So far, I'm very impressed with these wrenches. Seriously, if you don't own a set, buy some, they're that good, especially the flex head version. If you're on the fence, buy a smaller set and see how you like them and I have no doubt you'll be buying the larger sets in both SAE and Metric just like I did! ... show more

  • Not great finishing
Size: 16 Pc Style: With Wrench Rack Pattern Name: Metric
I was really excited to finally get a ratcheting wrench set. However, the finishing on these wrenches are terrible. I heard that their quality was good in the past, but since had went done significantly. I can't say for sure how durable the mechanisms are, but from the picture you can see the manufacturer didn't pay much attention to detail. Pro: 8mm to 25mm. Note this set actually skip 20mm and 23mm. They are less commonly used, but just be aware of that. The flex head is tight enough as new, so that's good. Price is very decent at $10 a piece on average. Con: Just by a quick inspection, I've found several cosmetic defects. It may not affect the use of the wrenches, but it doesn't give me confidence on the quality of the set. I'm paying a lot for this set and expecting more from GW as a reputable company. The machined markings on the side of 13mm doesn't go all the way across the body of the wrench, it's only 3/4 in. long, which is useless when you try to feel for the ratcheting direction of the box end or try to get extra grip. On the 12mm, the middle part of the wrench isn't straight, see the waving pattern. The box end has a pretty obvious dent or filed off part and they just put chrome over it. As I said in the beginning, the overall finish is subpar, even when each wrench on average only cost about $10. I've decided to return this set and get a complete 8mm to 22mm Milwaukee set. It's about $15 per wrench, but I think the quality is much better. ... show more
