Description

The GEARWRENCH family of torque wrenches & torque products offer the latest innovations in torque measurement. Included in the line are micrometer, tire shop, beam and electronic torque wrenches, as well as, torque multipliers. The micrometer wrenches are available in fixed head and flex head. The fixed head line offers wrenches in 1/4" to 3/4" drives. The flex head wrenches are available in 3/8" and 1/2" drives. The tire shop wrenches feature a rugged tire tread rubber cover on the head intended to specifically be used for checking wheel lug nuts and are available in 3/8" and 1/2" drives. The electronic torque wrenches ensure a more precise fastener torque level and are available in a 3/8" and 1/2" drives. The GEARWRENCH line of torque products allow the user to complete any job where accurate torque is required.

This is my first decent torque wrench. Up until now I've only used the bottom of the barrel click type torque wrenches from harbor freight. This 3/8 drive torque wrench from gearwrench is really nice. The accuracy is as advertised, I clamped the wrench in my vise, hung a weight from the handle, and set the torque to: (my weight) / 12 * (length from drive to handle where the weight was attached). It takes 3 AAA batteries that are put into the bottom of the handle. I like how the battery compartment easily screws off, making it fast/easy to remove the batteries for storage. Things that I don't like: 1. The amazon listing says 7.4-99.6 FT LB, but the actual product is 10-100 FT LB 2. Adjusting the torque setting is pretty annoying how it cycles through the numbers. It increments very slowly initially and then starts incrementing so fast that you easily blow past where you were shooting for. It's pretty weird its frustrating how slowly it increments and then it kinda takes off like a rocket. ... show more

I bought this product specifically because it was able to be adjust at lower torque specifications. I would say the instructions it comes with aren’t the best, but it’s fairly intuitive. When you input a torque specification, it stays in the memory and loads to that last setting. This is important because the unit auto shuts off after a a minute or two of inactivity. It has lights, sounds, and vibration feedback as you approach your specified setting, so it’s pretty simple to use. I was a big fan of these features. Plus, the digital display shows in realtime what the current torque rating is at as your torquing the wrench. Highly recommend! ... show more

In the product description it says 7.4 to 99.6 FT LBS but the lowest it will go is 10 Ft lbs! Not a huge deal but I did order this one specifically for that, bc the spark plugs on my bikes torque spec is 7.5 ft lb love gear wrench stuff it has always done the job and this seems to be good quality.

The 3/8 drive electronic torque wrench worked great for 8 mo. then I got an error code. Contacted gear wrench and they asked me to send it in. Within a week I received a new wrench. Great customer service. Read other reviews regarding nightmare warranty problems, but I experienced none of that. Would recommend this tool. Just remember to take the battery out before putting it away for an extended period of time. The batteries in my 1/2" drive leaked in the wrench. Not easy to clean up. ... show more

Literal garbage. Sent it back. Thing was freaking out and buzzing and would not stop. Completely useless. There was no way to make it stop, or zero it out. It would automatically register 30ftlb without even touching it. Quality isn’t the best, Chinese as usual but very expensive and overpriced for the quality. Functionality: it worked great for five minutes and then it decided it was time to freak out and never stop. Even turning it off and on didn’t help. Not only annoying but embarrassing, the alarm is loud as hell and you can’t turn the volume down. I am extremely careful with my tools and have worked with hundreds of different tools, this one was probably THE WORST tool I’ve ever used. Seems like there’s no quality control. The buzzer is really annoying and unnecessary. Just a simple beep is more than enough to tell you it’s tight. We are over complicating something that doesn’t need to be. I've owned various torque wrenches over 50 or 60 years of home car maintenance and repair and race car build, maintenance and repair. This GearWrench electronic torque wrench is the easiest to use , highest quality one I've had. Best part is, it's not "Made in China". It is, however, made in Taiwan. First thing I did (before trusting it in my wife's 'merciless Benz', was to check the calibration. I found it to be dead-on accurate. at the all important lower settings. Setting and using the wrench is logical and easy. I'm not sure how it would stand up in a busy professional shop environment but I highly recommend it for the serious home mechanic. BTW,I still have a drawer full of Craftsman, Snap-on and lesser torque wrenches, but the GearWrench is my go-to when accuracy counts. ... show more

Purchased the 3/8 torque wrench back in 2022 and never really used it much because i was afraid of the accuracy after watching project farm's video and it's poor results.
