  • Best Stubby 3/8" on the Market! Best Stubby 3/8" on the Market!
Style: Stubby Flex Head
Gearwrench has just knocked it out of the park with their 120XP line of ratchets. This ratchet is fairly tiny and low profile and the ratcheting mechanism is oh so buttery smooth. There's a negligible amount of back-drag and it just feels so satisfying to use. The flexhead is as good or better than any other non-locking flex head ratchet I've ever used but I would really like it if they offered a locking version. This ratchet is small, but it's far from a nano ratchet and I like that about it. It's compact yet large enough that it's pretty much become my daily driver for low torque fasteners. I took a picture comparing it to some other "stubby" or "nano" ratchets currently on the market. I would really love to see a quarter inch 120XP to compete more with the other stubbies on the market. I also took a picture comparing it to a couple of the other 120XP ratchets I have just so you can decide if this is the one for you. It really is a versatile lineup of ratchets, they have every type available. My major gripe with 120XP as a whole is that there isn't really a mid length 8-9" long 3/8" 120xp ratchet. The only reason that I find myself going to this stubby so often is because this is the closest thing to a standard length 3/8" 120XP ratchet in flex head. One thing to note is that I did have a small issue with the first ratchet I ordered. For some reason the ratchet would occasionally bind and be difficult to switch to the reverse position. If I didn't have other 120XP ratchets I probably would have thought it was just a fault of the ratchet mechanism themselves, but I knew from experience that it should be a lot smoother. I put in a warranty claim and within a week they shipped me a new ratchet, no questions asked do I really can't hold that against them. The new one worked flawlessly. Overall this ratchet is durable and sturdy. At first glance this ratchet seems expensive for a ratchet this small, but it's really a small price to pay for as much use as I've gotten out of it. ... show more

  • Worth every, single penny
Style: Stubby Flex Head
Gear Wrench continues to deliver quality ratchets that feel great, have minimal backlash, and with such a high tooth count this a life saver for small spaces where your swing arc is too small to get purchase using ratchets with less teeth. The small form factor of this unit and the pivoting handle are the only reason I am able to get to some hard to deal with items in cramped engine bays. For the price, this is an absolute must have for anyone who routinely works in cramped spaces, and I have yet to find a Gear Wrench XP ratchet that isn't fantastic. ... show more

  • One of my favorite stubby flex head 3/8 ratchets
Style: Stubby Flex Head
This is a very nicely built ratchet with a pleasant weight and feel to it. The back drag is good, and it has the right shape to obtain proper leverage on stubborn bolts.

  • High quality.
Style: Stubby Flex Head
Great little ratchet for tight spaces, high quality, and ratchets very smoothly.

  • For DIY hands down
Style: Stubby Flex Head
This is a very nice stubby… I say it’s better suited for that DIY handyman type people…I didn’t like the grease they used so I put in Super Lube and it helped a lot with back drag…it’s a nice tool but question the professional who uses it longterm. For the money it’s worth it.

  • The best Gearwrench has ever made.
Style: Stubby Flex Head
This new Gearwrench ratchet with the gold inlay sets a new benchmark for quality and performance. The build is outstanding and the action is very smooth. Easily one of the best ratchets available at any price point.

  • Perfect stubby ratchet!
Style: Stubby Flex Head
Oh man this ratchet is one of the best ones I have and the price is fantastic! The gears are smooth and the backlash is minimal! The detent flex head is great quality and an awesome feature. It will stay in place well while in use. It's the perfect size for my hand and the low profile head makes it easy to fit in tight spaces! I love this ratchet and can't wait to use it some more! ... show more

  • 120XP in slim form factor for the tightest spaces
Style: Stubby Flex Head
Same Gearwrench quality I've come to enjoy in other sizes and forms, but this time, as a stubby. I have a couple of slimmer ratchets, but at just 72 tooth. The flex head is plenty stiff to not move out of alignment during use.
