The GEARWRENCH 84031 - 3/4" Drive 26 Piece 6 Point Metric Impact Socket Set is built to handle even the harshest extreme professional work environment. The set features heavy duty impact sockets made of premium Chrome molybdenum alloy steel (Cr-Mo) for exceptional strength and durability, have high visibility size markings with bright laser etchings and secondary hard stamped size markings, the sockets are of standard “shallow” depth with a 6 point off- corner loading design reduces fastener rounding. The sockets meet or exceed ASME specifications for strength/durability and feature a pin hole that can be used with pin and O-ring for secure socket retention to a drive tool. The sockets come packed in a durable blow molded case by GEARWRENCH is designed to withstand extreme conditions and provides protection and organization for the sockets, making it easy to store and transport the entire set.

As someone who frequently works on heavy machinery, this GEARWRENCH 26 Piece 3/4" Drive 6 Point Metric impact socket set has been a fantastic addition to my toolkit. The sockets, made from chrome molybdenum alloy steel, are exceptionally strong and durable, standing up to the rigors of frequent use without any signs of wear. The off-corner loading design is particularly helpful, as it reduces fastener rounding, ensuring that I can tackle even the toughest bolts with confidence. They also make a deep impact socket set, and while those are more versatile, it's over DOUBLE the weight. We're talking around FORTY POUNDS more than the weight of this set! The blow molded cases, while fine for this set, are a bit lacking when dealing with that kind of weight, making the deep impact set difficult to move and the case more prone to damage. For this reason, I prefer this set. This set is also much cheaper and can get into more space-restricted areas. Despite the weight, the quality and reliability of these sockets make them worth the investment. Whether you're a professional mechanic or a serious DIY enthusiast, this GEARWRENCH socket set is a must-have for tackling large metric fasteners. ... show more

This is an extensive set of huge metric sockets for use in maintenance or assembly of heavy machinery. This is quite the investment, but you can feel the quality the second you receive the package and lift the case: these sockets are no joke. Inside, you get 26 different sizes ranging from 19 to 50mm; you get every socket between those ranges except 37, 39, 45, 47, 48 and 49 (all uncommon sizes). Each of these sockets is massively substantial, designed to be driven by a 3/4" drive impact driver. They're made of chrome-molybdenum steel and have a matte manganese phosphate finish, and are laser etched really clearly so you can tell the size you're working with from a distance. The case is equally nice - a form-fitting plastic organizer with a clamshell lid, two side latches and two buckles next to the handle. It isn't going anywhere, which is a good thing because this whole thing is HEAVY (30 pounds) when fully laden with all the sockets. Gearwrench is a brand of Apex Tool Group, which also makes Crescent and Sata tools and Weller soldering irons. I've had good luck with all of their products over the years, and while this is an expensive set, it comes with a full lifetime warranty and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this set for a professional who needs to outfit their toolchest for working with large metric fasteners. ... show more

This review is for the Metric Deep 28 piece set. Latches are good on the plastic box. The two front latches are metal, and the two side latches are plastic. Item arrived packed well. 2 sockets inside had moved out of their spots during shipping. Not sure what the white substance is on some of the sockets, see photos for details. Overall, a good assortment of sizes, and a good storage solution. Set is heavy! I’d guess #50. ... show more
