We all have that buddy that buys labels. He will proudly show off his $100,000 Snap-On tool collection that cost him 2 marriages. He's the same buddy that drinks vanilla-chai lattes with soy milk in the mornings while filming his oil-changing conquests on Tik-Tok; man-bun tucked neatly under the sticker-filled brim of his hat. When it's quitting time, he retires his latte in favor of Bud Light. He wouldn't be caught dead with any Gear Wrench tools in his tool box. Despite the fact that they offer the same lifetime warranty and function of the tools he bought off a truck that cost him easily 5 times the amount. They aren't Snap-On after all. They are yellow. For the family man who turns a wrench for a living or as a hobby, or simply needs a quality set of tools for fixing things around the house, you should seriously consider Gear Wrench. My tool box started with a bunch of hand-me-down items that I got from my dad, grandfather and uncles. Tools were always purchased when the need arose from brands like Craftsman or whatever was on sale. One day I discovered ratcheting wrenches from Gear wrench, and fell in love. Compact heads, smooth ratcheting function, and durable enough to survive a frustrated throw at a brick wall. I slowly started to gravitate towards the brand and have slowly expanded my tool box to include more and more items from Gear Wrench. In regards to this set, I have only compliments. You get a wife range of 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch drives. The sockets fit snugly on fasteners which help prevent rounding and fastener damage. They are polished to a mirror shine and look fantastic. Each piece is clearly labeled and made even easier to identify when stored on a socket rail. I have been incredibly happy with this set. Made of a high quality tool steel, i feel confident applying torque and leverage on them. Additionally, the selection in this kit will cover a broad range of tasks. I have had to warranty 2 tools from Gear Wrench previously. Both times the warranty prices was smooth and easy. I just sent them an email with a picture of the problem. Both circumstances a replacement was at my door step within 10 days. To summarize, you get a nice set of quality tools at less than 25% of the "Truck Price"... the warranty can't be beat, and every tool I've purchased manufactured from Gear Wrench has worked well and exceeded expectations. You can't go wrong with any of their products

Great Master 6pt Metric/ SAE Socket Set. Unlike Other Reviews stated, I was not missing any sockets in my set. Set came in separate bags in separate boxes with the 1/2 drive sockets in one box and 1/4 & 3/8 drive sockets in the other. I only use the Hansen socket tray organizer for all of my master sets. I had 3 sockets that would not go onto the organizer pegs. With a little modification I can make the center holes a bigger diameter and they will fit the pegs. I got this set for $195 around the Black Friday time. Had this set in my cart for about a year monitoring the price. I will also purchase the Gearwrench 176pc 12pt Socket Set. All my hand tools are Gearwrench. I love the warranty process. Just go to the Gearwrench website, submit a picture of the broke items with part numbers, new tool arrives in about a week. Sockets that have to be modified to fit the organizer are: 5.5mm (1/4 Dr), 9/16 (1/4 Dr), 1 1/4 (1/2 Dr). Also there are pictures of the extra sockets that the Hansen Socket Trays did not have a spot for. 3/8 Drive: 21mm (Shallow & Deep), 22mm (Shallow & Deep), 24mm (Deep) 1/2 Drive: 1 3/6" (Shallow), 1 1/2" (Shallow & Deep) A great value for the money, compared to the over priced, same warranty tool truck stuff!

I wanted to hate this set. I really did. I have two big tool boxes full of tools almost exclusively made in the United States. Whenever possible, I want to support my friends and neighbors who produce things in this country, with jobs here, supporting families here, and paying taxes here. Craftsman sold out and is now made overseas. I have bought socket wrenches and socket sets from Williams, but they are incredibly expensive. I needed something to fill the gap, and after watching reviews by Project Farm on YouTube, decided to get the GEARWRENCH 176 Piece Master Socket Set (89074). The set includes pretty much every socket you would ever need, in Metric and SAE sizes, 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive sizes, standard and deep. You can fill your toolbox and not ask for anything. I didn't have any of the missing parts or problems listed by other buyers. I unpacked the bags directly into magnetic socket organizers (many different options available on Amazon) and everything was there. It does not include socket wrenches, but GEARWRENCH has multiple designs and sets of equally high quality. NOTE: the 84-tooth gear wrenches work fine, don't get tricked into paying twice as much (or more) for wrenches with higher gear tooth counts - you will never notice the difference. I will say that I have concerned about so many tools claiming to be made in Taiwan. The nation of Taiwan only has a population of 23 million people. Unless the infants and nursing home patients are all working three jobs, these products claimed to be made there are actually made in China (population: 1.4 billion). The products are being made in China, shipped to Taiwan to have some minimal change made, like plating, engraving, or boxing, and then marked as made in Taiwan. That doesn't impact the quality, but it does impact where the money ultimately goes.

These were a lot better than I gave them credit for. Gearwrench is currently owned by the Danahar tool group with use to be a staple of American made tools. These are not of that legacy. But, bang for the buck, these are a high quality tool so far. My biggest complaint is the deep well socket fastener fitment slots do not run deep enough. 2nd, it can be difficult to read the sizes of the smaller sockets. Functionally, they are working very well and are used daily during the work week. They look good, feel good, and fit quality fasteners crisply in a way that is positive and confidence inspiring. Gearwrench has evolved as a brand that offers a lot of tool for a good value. Their sockets and wrenches are worth the money!
