    • Good complete metric socket set
These metric sockets are very good quality, and I am very pleased with them. The fit and finish is fine, and they work very well. They are a good addition to my tool collection. I already have a complete and very good quality socket set for inches, and that particular set is for smaller nuts/bolts so it uses 1/4" drive. Up to now, though, I didn't have a good complete 1/4" drive metric socket set. This GearWrench socket set is complete, including the 5.5 mm socket, which you don't always find in a metric socket set, but which is an official standard metric socket size. As other people have mentioned, you don't get a 4.5 mm socket, which is an error in the product description, but 4.5 mm is not a standard metric socket size anyway. So what you get is 4 mm to 15 mm in whole mm steps, plus 5.5 mm, which is 13 sockets. The included socket holder/organizer is very useful, although it is made of plastic. The individual socket holders slide on the plastic rail, so you can spread the sockets apart to easily get at a particular socket. You can put the sockets on the holders so the size marking for all the sockets is easily visible. Each socket holder has an embedded metal ball (like a ratchet) to keep the socket from falling off the holder. The sockets are made in Taiwan, instead of China, which is nice. ... show more

    • tight fit no worry of rounding off nuts or bolt heads.
I like the high chrome finish, the sockets look very well made and perform as well as they look. I used them for auto repair the sockets are six pointed which lessens the chance of rounding off of bolt heads. At this time I cannot rate for durability due to my short time of usership, but judging by the sockets wall thickness and their high chrome finish I cannot forsee in the near future any problems with longevity. I apologize for not knowing what sort of metal or alloy these are constructed of, but would purchase additional tools manufactured by Gear Wrench. ... show more

Knowing GearWrench I am sure these are fine sockets - BUT they are not what is pictured in the product listing. I wanted sockets with the knurled ring - this set has smooth sockets - so 1 point off and back they go. Too bad.

These are great sockets for the price. The range of sizes is the best out and the quality is better than this price should allow. One of the best values out there. The Socket holder is well worth half the price. It locks good and each socket slides easily.
