  • Yep those guys were right Junk!
Style: 3/8 Drive Pattern Name: Wrench
i ordered the 3/8's gear wrench version digital torque wrench, so some of the reviews on here had stated that the screws were loose, or that they became loose, some ratchet mechanisms failed etc, well im here to tell you they were right, gear wrench completely failed right out of the box a dud, and failed in the worse way, reverse/loosen works fine great, what about tightening which was the whole point of the freaking thing! NOPE!~~!!~!!~ weeeeeeeeeeeeeee free wheels like a bmx bike, gear wrench when they initially launched made freaking awesome tools, over the years they cheapened the mechanisms out instead of reversible switch they made them flip boxes and lost both quality and features while still charging the same price, COME ON! DEAD right out of the box~! Freaking unbelievable~! opened the ratchet head mechanism up and low and behold the furging turking thing was machined wrong, the switch pivot hole or the body has shifted so the faking thing doesn't let the paws do there thing, wow just wow~! and i was gonna rely on this piece of poo to build my motor no thanks F this and get something else like CDI or snap-on lets forget the name gearwrench. ... show more

  • Best wrench ---IN THIS PRICE RANGE---.
Style: 1/2 Drive Pattern Name: Wrench
Most 1/2 digital wrenches in this price range only go to 150lbs, but I needed something over 200lbs and this wrench works great. I almost broke down and bought the Snapon TechAngle for over $500, but then I found this. That being said, this IS NOT COMPARABLE AT ALL to the Snapon as other reviewers claim. Because the Snapon TechAngle does just that, it also measures ANGLE!!!! This wrench does NOT do that. If you need ANGLE measurements, and over 200ftlbs and stellar warranty, you should buy the Snapon! If you don't need angle measurements, flex head, best warranty, and highest resale value, but still want a digital wrench that goes over 200lbs then this is very good option, I have been using it for a few months now, and It's very good FOR THE PRICE. ... show more

  • it’s good but striped out
Style: 3/8 Drive Pattern Name: Wrench
it was good till it stripped out. the anvils gear is missing teeth. i contacted gearwrench by email for a rebuild kit and they said ok we’ll send you one. you’ll get a tracking number in a few days. ok. no tracking number. o where out of stock now. we’ll send it when it in stock. 3 months later i emailed them again still out of stock. 7 months later i email them. o we made a mistake there is no rebuild kit for this torque wrench. wtf? then they said i can send it to a place and have it rebuilt. how can it be rebuilt if there is no rebuilt kit for this model? don’t buy. i almost bought a new 3/8 angle one but the price jumped from $144 to $180. there are a lot of 3/8 digital torque wrench’s out there under a $100 ... show more

  • Quality tool BUT it eats batteries and hates the cold
Style: 1/2 Drive Pattern Name: Wrench
Its a well made, quality piece of tooling . . . BUT 1. it eats batteries like a "husky" kid eats candy (a pair a week) 2. at -20 it will sometimes not want to start up and it really eats batteries (a pair a day) If you keep it 50+ degrees then bring it out to work on stuff its easier on batteries. I with the beeping was quieter and the buzzing/vibrating more definitive. Handle is comfy and it is very accurate, The teeth are reasonably fine and it has a quality finish. I like it overall but if I could do it over again I'd get a CDI/Precision for my one and only 1/2" torque wrench. But then again this is $100 on sale vs $170 . . . ... show more

  • ZERO STARS!!!!
Style: 3/8 Drive Flex Head with Angle Pattern Name: Wrench
Zero stars if I could! So I purchased this the first time refurbished and instead of this tool I wound up getting infant clothing for "Baby's First Christmas"!!! Amazon refused to give me a refund to my card/bank account & would only give me Amazon Credit. Fine, I reordered-same tool same condition (refurbished)-and had to pay a higher price so the credit I received didn't cover the full purchase cost meaning I had to spend even MORE $$$ for the SAME TOOL I HAD ORDERED A WEEK PRIOR!!!!!! So I wait and it shows up-inoperative. Refurbished my ass! It will turn on, display "Cal" for Calibrate and then turn off. Completely non-functional. Took me all of an hour (or less) to figure out that the previous owner/user had stressed the tool beyond its calibrated limits and so it would NOT work without sending it back to Gearwrench for a re-calibration (at my own expense of course) for nearly as much as I paid for the tool in the first place. Returned it (yet again) and got another Amazon Store Credit! Finally said to hell with this and bought some Milwaukee M18 batteries. ... show more

  • i love being able to switch measurements inlb
Style: 1/2 Drive Pattern Name: Wrench
i have no way to test the accuracy other than compared to my usa craftsman, seems to get things equally tight. i love being able to switch measurements inlb, ftlb, nm with the push of a few buttons. unless you have the patience of a saint i would just get a split beam wrench. really easy to go overtorque if you try to move in any kind of productive pace with it. i have the warning beep set to 50% and even then i have to creep up on it or go over before my brain realizes whats going on. still getting used to it i guess, was getting better with it by the end of the day, but my brain is trained to feel for the click/give. ... show more

  • Solid Micrometer Torque wrench, 25-250 ft lb with angle
Style: 1/2 Drive Flex Head with Angle Pattern Name: Wrench
This is a good torque wrench - it feels solid and well-made. I checked it against a CDI and they registered the same. There are 2 things I would change if I could: add a release button on the head and a volume switch for the BEEPs. I don't think micrometer torque wrenches generally have a release pin on the socket head but it'd be great if this one did. It's not easy changing socket; it takes some effort to yank them off. But this is a minor complaint, not a deal-breaker. As to the BEEPS, they are loud, which is great when you reach your torque target but they sound on every button-press; when changing torque targets it's every tenth of a pound. This too is a small annoyance. All in all I'm happy I bought it. I won't use it often enough to justify buying something better at 4x the price. Remember to pick up a couple AA batteries as they're not included with the wrench. ... show more
