Holy cow this is my favorite new adult fidget toy. It has more weight than a pen and the soft click button to turn the flashlight on and off is very, very satisfying. I work in a place that uses UV lighting and UV reactive décor. This light is so handy for testing out colors in my art and 3D materials. The flashlight is best for the personal range but can reach across a room. If all the lights are turned off and in an enclosed space, the flashlight can illuminate objects at least 20' away. The packaging warns that this flashlight cannot detect cat urine. I disagree. My cat's urine shows up under the blacklight (see review pic). So does the egg residue on my unwashed frying pan (also in review pic). Soap and biological matter typically shows up under average range blacklight frequency and I'm thrilled to see this blacklight picks up on all the color ranges I'd like to see. The only issue is that my cellphone camera doesn't see violet very well at all. So the pictures turn out very blue while the human eye would show more violet. That's not the fault of the blacklight though.

This light put out more UV than my older multi led light. It charged up my glow in the dark fishing jigs in seconds and easily detected leftover leak detection dye from an automotive ac system under daylight conditions . The aluminum body and machined threads are high quality and the lens is recessed to help prevent scratches. The design does a good job of dissipating heat however I am not sure what the lens material is as I do not wish to go that far with the disassembly. On the visible part of the internal curcuit board there appears to be some excess solder flux leftover from assembly and circuit board breakouts are a bit rough. On my example one of the breakout points has a slight interference with the cap threads but that's just me being really picky and does not hinder function. Nothing a quick pass with a file can't fix, especially important for someone with my level of ODC. Also, the spring steel pocket clip can be reversed or removed if needed. I put some dielectric grease on the cap threads and o-ring seals, put one in my tackle box and the other in the garage. I have no reason to believe these lights will not serve me for years and for the price I don't think it can be beat.

These were very bright and worked well. They were brighter than another brand we purchased at the same time. They are very light weight and handy. The only negative thing that I can report is that they use a lot of battery power, after 2 hours of using this flashlight in the dark (on and off use outdoors), the light was pretty dim and did not light up things the way a black light should. We used quality batteries, so that is not the issue. Going through batteries this fast can be an issue if you don't have spare batteries with you, and can be costly.

Great product. I bought the flashlights or work. After buying them I keep one at home for cleaning motivation because I found my cleaning was not as I though with trying out the flashlight on my flooring. It detects dog messes and fine dirt partials amazingly and at work my co workers try to use mine instead of the flashlight provided that has taken its wear and tear from falling on the concrete and when needed you have to find it. That is why I bought my own and it works much better. Everyone is asking where I bought it on course I say amazon and give them the brand gearlight and it only takes 2 AAA batteries which is even better if a plus and I can put it in my pocket with my pen knife cutter and other tools. Work wonderful and would buy again and probably will. Seems very durable and should be taken care of as most tools and flashlight. Very happy.

I purchased the GearLight UV Black Light Flashlight S100 [2 Pack] . I think it is a great product and would buy it again. The outer shell is very sturdy and made well. The light is compact enough to fit in my hand and is not too heavy. It can slip in my pocket quickly. My cat senior cat is getting older and having a few accidents and this was very helpful to finding the location of the problem areas quickly. But there are so many other uses. Like for counterfeit Air conditioner leaks, Hotel/ Motel cleaning inspections, etc. Make sure you buy batteries because it doesn't come with and we were scouring the house for a fresh pair so the light would be strong enough.

In my line of work it is necessary to have a black light on your person. This one works great for how compact it is. Many people have asked me where I purchased this item. It is battery powered by size AAA batteries. The newer the battery is the brighter the UV light is. After multiple hours of use the brightness will decrease as the battery is drained. It fits in my shirt pocket and even my pen pocket on my utility vest. It has a metal clip that holds on for dear life. Even if it is dropped the metal housing is durable. I strongly feel this light will last as long as I have batteries to replace every so often. I would recommend this product to anyone.

UPDATED REVIEW These pen lights weren't really bright, so left a review stating that. Now...... Gear Light has excellent customer service. Today I received another UV light. They sent a replacement concerning my review. They even sent a bigger handheld version and even included some batteries. I am really impressed. Didn't even contact them, they addresses my issue based on review. I have been purchasing their flashlights for a few years, excellent flashlights. Durable and bright. Their customer service is awesome too from what I experienced today. Quality lights and company is attentive to customers,, they listen and handled a issue just on a review. Aa before, Gear Light is my preference for lights. They are bright, durable, and the company is sound.
