I'm shivering under my blankets in Texas, where we've had record high temperatures lately. I'm so comfy. It was very easy to install, the only tool I needed was a screwdriver to secure it in place. I have two big dogs with long thick coats and they are sleeping so peacefully now, no panting or constant adjustments trying to find a cooler way to lie down and rest. I could not be happier with this purchase. I would recommend it to anyone looking to cool their room. I don't know how it would work in a big living area or anything but in my room it's freezing right now. I love it! As far as the appearance goes, it's a really bright white, very sleek looking. I was very excited to get this, as my bedroom was beginning to feel like an oven. I bought it on a Friday morning and it came to me by Sunday evening. It was very easy to install. It cooled down my room very quickly. In fact I leave it on low because my room got so cold. The only complain I have is that it is quite noisy. Sometimes it sounds like there is something stuck inside of it rattling against the fan. Sometimes it makes this noise almost like a “boom” and it scared and wakes me from my sleep. This little machine is doing exactly what GE electronics do. I had a similar one that was about to hit its 10 year mark and figured I'd get a new one. I can the old one worked great and this one does exactly the same in the 12x12 room we use it in. The only thing that was more flimsy was the filter. It seems like it could break easy if you pull it out wrong or angle it while pushing it back in. Keeps me cool and noise level is about what you expect (its not totally silent but not overly loud) you will hear it. ... show more

Pretty straightforward, only thing is it’s not for a horizontal window but if you have foam boards to block off the other half it works great, just make sure you use tape. Makes my bedroom so cold I love it! Great for summer especially if you don’t have central cooking this is perfect. I tried those stand alone coolers with the ice packs and ended up returning them and buying this instead. Worth every penny. Is a little loud but totally worth it ... show more
