This remote came with a LOT of supported devices and how to program the remote for the various devices, but I thought - TRY IT and VOILA straight out of the packaging, once I had added my own 2 AA batteries, the remote worked instantaneously with my TVs! EASY PEASY! Now I have two of these remotes. I have two TVs, a Samsung 2023 and a Samsung 2024. The remote is very lightweight, in fact adding the batteries almost doubles the weight, it is that light. The buttons are raised nicely, so I might even let my weak, essential tremor in arm/hand mom use this, since she has killed some buttons in our other, older remotes (which is why I needed some replacements). These buttons do not light up, so the remote's 2 AA batteries should last a long time. I love that it uses normal batteries, as when it runs out it is nice to have compatible batteries on hand. If you have the factory provided remote that is supplied by Samsung, which is an evil to use device, this remote does lack some of those custom other buttons, but those aren't things we/I regularly use anyhow. It is nice that something works just as expected! Simple is wonderful! I love this!! I could not move from one app to another on my TV because this remote did not have buttons to move left or right. It did program easily and work as far as volume, channel, and input control. Simple and easy to use, had the basic features I needed for my mother-in-law (who is elderly). The problem is after set up, you have to turn the tv and the cable box on/off independently. This means you have to select the TV button then hit 'on,' then hit the Cable/Sat button then hit 'on' to activate it. If you have only the TV on and accidentally hit the channel button, it automatically changes the 'input' to 'TV' and you have to manually go into 'input' and reselect the cable/sat input to use the cable box with the TV. You can imagine the challenge you have with a 98 year old trying to explain over the phone how to go into input and toggle up or down to a new input. There needs to be a way to set the off/on button so it turns both the TV and cable/sat box at the same time and locks out the ability to turn one or the other off independently without a system reset (to which the elderly shouldn't have easy access). The challenge is once set up, you need to have the remote default to the cable/sat box channel up/down toggle but retain access to the TV volume and 'sleep' button. excellent control for senior citizens. my mom, step dad and neighbor in his 90's would accidentally mess up their programmable remote by pressing the wrong button. with the last programmable remote, the tv button was next to the power button. when the tv button was held, it messed up everything. with this remote, the option to program it is far away from commonly used buttons. it has been over a year and nobody accidentally messed up this remote. also the very large buttons at the top are perfect. all they need is to change channels and volume. ... show more

Perfect remote for a senior. I bought my mom a smart tv, great picture, but she could not use the remote that came with the tv. It had way too many buttons and they were really small for her arthritic fingers. If it wasn’t for this remote I would have had to return the TV.
