  • Could use clearer instructions, but wasn't difficult to figure out - works well
Very good overall! 1. Very inexpensive 2. Produces clear TV signal from inside the attic 3. Simple enough to install The one little downside is the instructions (or lack thereof). Hint - if your home isn't new, the wood in your rafters can be pretty hard from the heat they're exposed to for years... Be sure to use a larger drill bit than what the instructions specify - match a drill bit to the included screws. I followed the directions, and the screws stripped (the downside of a drill-driver!) quickly. Fortunately, I had some suitable screws in the house and used those after drilling pilot holes with a larger drill bit. AIMING THE ANTENNA: I found a nice easy way to aim this thing! Look up the direction of your local transmitter on antennasdirect.com or a similar website. There are several about 30 mi away from me, and all close to each other, and antennasdirect.com said they're around 9-15 degrees. Using my iphone's compass app and holding the phone to the antenna (the flat top edge of the phone pressed against one of the horizontal pieces of the antenna), I was able to easily aim the antenna to 13 degrees, and received about 50 channels immediately, and all nice and clear! ... show more

  • Amazing picture, stunning
For ~$30 bucks, this is simply the best antenna I have ever purchased. Not too big but antennas need some spread to bring in the signal. This one is about 22" X 22" roughly. It is lightweight and installs VERY securely. Assembly-the instructions are hard to read but it is incredibly simple to put together. Everything snaps in place. A few phillips screws and you are done. It took me ten minutes and I never really looked at the directions. Quality-don't expect a super strong unit, it is made to bring in signals so when it is put together, you need to be a little careful with it but otherwise, it is sturdy enough. No issues with the build quality. Signal-we are 11 miles from the local towers and did not need amplification with this antenna. The signal strength according to the TV was 'green' on all channels meaning strong signal. This unit pulls in ATSC 3.0 4K high def signals but you need a TV to do that. If not, still great picture in 1080P. Installation-I went to antennaweb dot org to find out exactly where the towers were to point the unit correctly. Ours was 191 degrees south and using my cellphone in the attic, I easily twisted the unit to point directly towards them. This is critical. Also, the higher the better in the attic. I found a spot with little to no obstructions (like a neighbor's house, etc. I used a quad shield RG-6 coax cable. Use a good one, it will reduce 'noise'. I will say this, I had purchased one of those flat antennas and another 'digital' antenna. Both went into the trash, they are simply junk. This type of antenna does the best job, period. Also, some of the cheap antennas claim 200 mile range, the curvature of the earth negates that. 70 miles or less is realistic. Lastly, ALL of these antennas pull in 1080P and 4K signals. Check the website to see where and how far your towers are. There is a guy online, antenna man. Look him up and watch his videos, he is a wealth of information. The picture on our TV is not only great, it is stunning. Samsung Neo Qled 4K with a ATSC 3.0 next gen 4K tuner. ... show more

  • Works very well - Instructions are not great
I got a fancy new LG Evo C2 TV a couple of months ago, and in order to run power next to a new wall mount I needed to drill holes and fish romex to it, so now having a path from the attic to the TV I decided to install an antenna as a backup to streaming local channels. Final verdict first - it works great, and coupled with a modern tuner / TV there is actually a guide of channels that I get over the air for the channels received. It shows what's on now, what's coming next, info about the show, etc. just like a cable guide. Digital OTA channels have a lot of extra data in the signal now it seems. The picture on the primary channels (e.g. 6.1) was fantastic - not sure the resolution but I assume 1080 (i or p not sure). The secondary channels (e.g. 6.2, 6.3) are usually showing old TV shows and appear to be 720 or lower resolution, which doesn't matter much if the source is old school 480. Assembly and Install - the instructions that come with it do no more than suggest how to assemble it, but thankfully it is pretty obvious/easy. The instruction PDF posted with this listing is for some other antenna all together, not useful at all. The screws that came with it to mount the antenna clamp to wood are trash - the heads rounded out before I got one halfway in even with a pilot hole. Bottom line - cheap, pretty easy, just know that it's not the most basic thing to figure out. Note that most of my good comments are how my TV handles the signal - this has nothing at all to do with the antenna. If you have a new TV and live near an urban area, you can get a ton of channels with a guide page. Really old TV that has a basic digital tuner - you'll get the same channels but no guide. ... show more

  • This thing is amazing!
I honestly still can't believe this. We bought the football package on sling TV so we could watch college football during the 2023 season. Practically every game came on CBS which does not come with sling! This antenna got good ratings but was way too inexpensive for me to believe IT'S TRUE! We mounted this inside our attic facing toward where the internet says the signal comes from. We are at least 60 miles from the city where they send out the signal. We get tons of channels! the picture quality is fantastic! We get all the local channels and lots more besides. No amplifier. Not plugged into anything except the tv. I'm telling you, this antenna is unbelievable and I am so so so glad I bought it. It was a little frightening considering all the pieces that it came with, but the video made all the difference with assembly. Don't spend a ton of money on an antenna; you don't need to! ... show more
