This water heater does not work as advertised. Water does not reach the set temperature. I live on the gulf coast in a very mild climate and have yet to see 120 degree water. It is extremely difficult to install as stated in other reviews. The unit has to be wired and plumbed before you can even put the cover on which has to be screwed on from the back. Then it hangs on the wall like a picture. It’s a horrible product. Do not purchase it. And the only way to get a refund or exchange it you have to ship it back. So you have to purchase a new one before you can even get a refund. Very disappointed. ... show more

This review is for the 3.5 kW 0.7 Gallons per Minute Model GE04SNLPDG version of this product. I got this to add hot water and supply a shower that I put into a poolhouse that for some reason only had a cold water line run to it back whenever it was built. If you read the specs and know what you're getting and do a little bit of research so you know exactly what this thing is and isn't capable of then you should be more than happy with it. This is not a powerhouse water heater by any stretch of the imagination. Where I live it does a good job of warming the water to a comfortable temperature, and it did so all summer long. It's not going to get scalding hot and it's really dependent on the temp of the water feeding into it. If you're in a colder climate, or if you want a solution for hot water in the winter, you might want to go with a more powerful unit. The packaging and documentation are really clear about the capabilities and limitations of these products. And... if you're thinking about using this to heat a pool don't bother. I'd been wondering for years if these things would be a serviceable replacement for traditional pool heaters but they're not - at least not the 3.5 kW one. Just as a test before I mounted it in the poolhouse I ran a hose from this to the pool and let it run for a little bit and it really didn't make a dent in the temperature of the whole pool. You could only really feel some additional warmth near where the hose was in the pool. You'd have to run this way too long to get a noticeable temperature change and it'd cost you a fortune on your electric bill. That all being said, for what it does it does it well. Just temper your expectations and you should be more than happy with this little unit. ... show more

Got the water heater in the mail and the package was all messed up and ripped. Should have been a sign of things to come. I Installed the water heater and hooked up the water and switched on the power and the display would not come on. Also the water heater was making and weird clicking sound. After a while of trying to get it to work I decided it was a lost cause. My advice after working with the water heater is not to buy it. I hope this was helpful to some looking to buy. ... show more
