Description

Welcome to unlimited hot water demand, courtesy of GE Appliances tankless electric water heaters. Conserve energy and water by only using energy when hot water is in use, saving you money. This system installs at point of use so you can have instant and continuous hot water flow where you need it. The space-saving and compact design takes up significantly less space than a tank style water heater. With an intuitive design and remote control, you can easily and conveniently change temperature settings in increments of 1 degree increments ranging from 86°F to 140°F. This unit heats up to 2.9 gallons per minute (GPM), run 2 faucets and 1 shower simultaneously in warm climates (Results are based on 72˚F inlet water temperature and 105˚F outlet water temperature). The self-modulating technology utilizes inlet and outlet temperature sensors to optimize energy usage and keep water temperature consistent. The scale reduction technology extends the life of the unit by shielding heating element from water and scale buildup. This tankless water heater uses standard 1/2-in NPT water connections and does not require venting for simple, wall-mounted water heater installation.

This tankless electric heater works very well but it has a very poor design when it comes to installation. The unit is electrical so expect to do some electrical work when installing this. That being said, this tankless heater is not easily installed by the average homeowner. On top of the electrical work required, the inlet for the wires is in the face plate so you have to leave slack in the wire to accommodate the faceplate design. However, when putting the faceplate back in place, there is no room for the wire slack. It was very difficult, frustrating, and time consuming to get it to fit. The design is very, very poor. This thing also requires three 40 amp, 2 pole breakers, aka 6 breaker spaces. Expect to buy additional parts for the install such as breakers, wiring, etc. The unit is a whole home system. It will run a couple sinks at a time or even two showers at once efficiently. It gets the water very hot. Overall, the system works very well, but the design of the faceplate is very poor making the installation are very daunting. It is not for the average homeowner, and additional parts will be needed for installation. ... show more

    • The Design isn't well thought out

Ordered this to replace a 15 year old unit. Upon receiving the unit it looked as though it had been unboxed before. However, all necessary parts were there. The first thing, it must have the electrical ran through the face. In order to do this you must leave extra slack. Here in lies the issue, they leave you no room for extra storage of wire inside the unit. Once the unit was initially installed, it only got warm at full power. It never did get hot. Even with 1 shower/faucet running. It did work fine except for that and it could've been my fault for under sizing the unit I bought. Returned the unit for a Rheem 27KW and it has been wonderful. This seemed to be more like a point of source heater rather than Whole home heater. This may be ok for a tiny home or 1 br apt but think twice before purchasing for a home with multiple taps. ... show more

This is made for just one thing in your home or RV be that the shower (where I used mine) or the sink. Where ever you use it. It helps out when we are camping because the shower never runs out of hot water now. It was an easy install as well. It’s pretty straightforward as far as what it’s for and how it’s used. So long as you remember that it’s only designed to handle one water outlet and not for the whole home or RV. Also pay attention to where you are located obviously of it gets colder where you are it’s going to take a little more to get hot in the winter months. I’m in Florida so thankfully I have no worries all year long. W definitely would recommend this to help take some of the load off of your homes water heater or for your RV to work more efficiently. ... show more

It does not come with a cord. They expect you to wire it to your house not plug it in. It is 120v but it draws 29amps.

This is a pretty straight forward device and works as predicted. I would only use this for a single room, possible a shower, but more efficient with a sink. Although the remote controlled temperature is nice, i would set it a desired temperature and leave it, so it makes the remote unneeded other than initial setup. ... show more

Bought this product and got excited to get GE for the cheap price tag. Well you get what you pay for. While it did arrive 2 days earlier than estimated, it requires a specific 40 amp breaker that you can only special order. The wiring was incredibly difficult to install. Then, once we got all the parts we were waiting for and ready to have hot water again, the product didn’t even work. We called GE and did troubleshooting and they said that it was likely a bad/faulty water heater and that we should call immediately to get a replacement. It would click on and was hooked up correctly just doesn’t work. Returning this immediately to Amazon and went with a different brand all together. ... show more
