  • Perfect microphone stand for everyday use. Nice sound isolating around the base.
Style: 10" Weighted Base Pattern Name: Stand
I first purchased the tripod version of these stands and were immediately impressed by the sturdiness of the booms and material. They were heavy, but not bulky, they stood up well and didn't make a bunch of noise when holding/moving. So I purchased a pedestal version. Exact same quality in a straight stand. But, the round base is not only not too large, but also has a rubber gasket around the bottom to prevent it from wobbling like so many other bases that have 4-6 "feet". That rubber gasket allows it to sit firmly on a stage and if it does get moved around the gasket cushions the base to prevent that bass wobble noise from feeding into the mic and making those horrible noises that all sound people dread. The clutch is easy to turn and it only takes about 1/2-3/4 turn to loosen and tighten it, but if you do go bonkers and really tighten it, it still easily releases and doesn't require a freakin' wrench to loosen. I'll be keeping my eye out for more of these as when I purchased it the one I got was the last of their stock. I'll be getting more to replace my older Ultimate stands soon. ... show more

  • 3/8" adapter badly made, won't fit any 5/8" holders
Style: 10" Weighted Base - Deluxe Height Adjust Pattern Name: Stand
The stand works OK, but the 3/8" to 5/8" adapter is so poorly threaded that I can't attach any of my 5/8" mic holders to it. The locking ring is so loose on the threads it keeps wanting to go diagonal, as the photo shows. It seems a waste to ship the whole mic stand back, weighted base and all, just for this small but essential part. If the seller is reading this, I'd appreciate getting a replacement that works, or a refund of $5 so I can buy an adapter that is properly threaded. A week of no response from seller here, so I contacted the manufacturer at gator frameworks.com and submitted an RMA request. I got an email response the next day saying they would ship out a replacement part, to arrive in a week or two. To be continued... ... show more

  • Nice mic stand
Style: 12" Weighted Base - Deluxe Height Adjust Pattern Name: Stand
I haven't had it terribly long, true, but I won't be adjusting it much (if ever again, really), as I have it set up to hold a reflection shield. It will likely stay where it is for a long, long time. For a microphone, this is a pretty good stand. Don't expect it to work for a big LDC (6-10lbs/3-5kg), as it isn't quite up to that, but for a small mic, it is quite nice. As stated before, I did hook up a reflection shield to it, and it is OK if you don't actually extend the section with the grip. If you do extend it, the 1kg or so of the shield isn't well supported, and the section bends with the weight pretty badly. I am lucky in that this isn't a deal breaker for me, since I could anchor the top of the stand to my wall (due to proximity) and all is OK. Again, I'm not moving this thing around... So, if you need to use this for a small mic (something like an SM58), you're good to go. Go with something big, heavy, and on a side mounted shock mount, and it might not be the best for you. I'm giving it 4 stars, as I do think that it is nice for the price if you know what you're getting into and it fits your needs. ... show more

Style: 10" Weighted Base - Deluxe Height Adjust Pattern Name: Stand
It's actually a great stand, the only thing was wrong,i think it was returned and has some scratches on it. I didn't have time to return it and ask for another one,i was in rush. In future be more respectful with your clients and if you know someone used it before make sure at least to check the products before sending again. Other than that i like it.. ... show more

  • Rattles at the grip

Nice heavy mid level mic stand. There is a noticeable rattle at the grip point when handled.

  • Good solid base, paired with heavy duty clamp arm can support iPad well
Style: 12" Weighted Base - Deluxe Height Adjust Pattern Name: Stand
Supports iPad in application of remote learning lessons. Heavy duty clamp attached to the upper adjustable portion works well, and the one-handed adjustment makes height adjustment trivial but still sturdy. Heavy wide base with nice flat surface. I don't know if it's fully "pro" grade, in the sense that you would give this to the Rolling Stones or a busy karaoke bar, but it's better than low consumer grade. You can buy a lot of similar units for 1/2 to 2/3 the price, but they tend to have crappier bases and I would gladly buy this same unit again and probably will. ... show more

  • Worst Mic Stand I have ever had in my 30+ yrs
Style: 12" Weighted Base Pattern Name: Stand
I bought this mic stand because they said how sturdy and heavy duty it is. Typically anything I get from Gator is great. Love my Gator cases. Understandably I am hard on mic stands. I have had to have them welded together to deal with my stage show. I sing for a band called Reflective Soul, we are a tribute to Collective Soul and Ed Roland uses the mic stand for numerous tricks and stage antics. Because of my size, I have to have a heavy duty mic stand to deal with this. There is twirling, kicking and catching, and one signature part of the show where the stand is used to hold me in a bent over position as I sing facing up. I was not able to do a single one of these things with this stand. I got it, and by the 3rd song in my set it was already broken. It would not tightened. The mic just kept falling from the height position to fully collapsed the entire show. This stand literally went from the box to the stage. Nothing in between. I have never been so disappointed in a stand before. The only saving grace is I used the bottom part of this stand to build a new stand out of galvenised pipe that will take my weight. For under $40. Thanks Gator. ... show more
