  • Very nice case!
Size: Medium
I bought this case for my Headrush Looperboard and was blown away by the quality when I received it. I love Gator Cases anyway. I bought several of the transit series guitar gig bags and they're awesome. This even feels like a step up from those. Very nice interior with velcro customization so your gear fits nicely... straps that hold it in place. Very solid padding all the way around... plenty of carry options to make life easier. And it has plenty of other storage pockets. Very confident my pedalboard will remain safe in this bag. It's on the expensive side, but when it comes to my music gear I've always said buy once, cry once. Well worth the extra expense. ... show more

  • A gear protecting dj case with style. A gear protecting dj case with style.
Size: Large
I feel like this suitcase was designed for that moment when you’re the DJ and you walk into the club looking good. It’s a discreet stylish design, discreet, and that it doesn’t have the properties of a hard plane baggage suitcase. And stylish as it does look like a height cost suitcase. The inside is a red velvet material that pops soon as you open it. And there are plenty of options for how you wanna configure your sizing within the case. This is done using these really cool little pillows with Velcro on them that attach anywhere on the inside of the suitcase so you literally can design any shape you want in there to hold whatever object. I love that it has wheels and also has a shoulder strap. But the best feature I think on it is the backpack strap. You just undo this from the back and you can wear it on your back and still have your hands-free to carry whatever it is that you need to carry. Big feature for Artist on the go such as myself. The overall quality of the case is superb it will protect your gear from bumps and other types of possible damaging situations. The only thing I didn’t like about it was I feel like there should be one more zipper on it that makes it expand a little bit so you can get a couple extra inches in case you have something bigger you wanna put in there I would almost rather do without the front pockets and have an expandable option. That way you truly were universal with what you could fit inside of it no matter what size. Yeah it’s a little pricey, in the cost department, but gators are really good label that you can trust and know it’s gonna last a long time you’re paying for the quality and longevity. So really evens out in the end ... show more

  • feels like a solid option for anyone
Size: Large
This large DJ controller bag feels like a solid option for anyone who needs something more protective and organized than a basic soft carrying case, especially if you’re hauling gear to gigs, practice, or storage. The biggest selling point is the customizable foam interior, because DJ controllers can vary a lot in shape and layout, and having foam blocks lets you dial in the fit instead of letting the controller slide around inside the bag. The size is generous, so it should work well for larger controllers up to around 31.5 inches, but I would still measure your gear carefully before buying since knobs, jog wheels, and side ports can affect how well it actually sits inside. The exterior feels built more for real use than just light storage, and the weather-resistant material is a nice bonus if you’re carrying equipment between your car and a venue in bad weather. I wouldn’t treat it like a waterproof hard case, but it should help with light rain, dust, and normal travel wear. The durability seems good for the price, with enough padding and structure to give some peace of mind without being overly bulky. Installation or setup is mostly just arranging the foam to fit your controller, and that may take a little trial and error, but it’s worth doing right for better stability. Value-wise, it makes sense if you have a controller worth protecting and don’t want it bouncing around in a cheaper bag. The quality feels above average, especially for mobile DJs or anyone transporting gear often, though if you’re flying or stacking heavy equipment on top, a hard case may still be the safer choice. Overall, it’s a practical, good-sized controller bag with nice protection, flexible fit, and a more professional feel than a basic carrying case. ... show more

  • Keeps your controller safe, but a little pricey
Size: Large
4 stars. This bag did exactly what I needed it to do and made transporting my DJ equipment way easier and safer. I used it to carry a DJ mixer/controller setup to a party, and it kept everything protected and organized during transport. The customizable foam interior is one of the best features. I was able to adjust it to fit my setup securely so things weren’t sliding around while carrying it. The fit was excellent for my controller and accessories, and the bag is versatile enough to work with a variety of gear layouts. The exterior quality is really good too. The weather-resistant material feels durable, the zippers are solid, and the overall construction feels like it’s designed for regular travel and event use. Appearance-wise, it also looks professional instead of just looking like a generic equipment bag. Comfort and ease of use are solid as well. The straps worked well, it was easy to carry, and the storage layout made organizing cables and accessories pretty simple. Everything stayed together nicely without feeling like it was going to shift or get damaged. Stability and protection are also very good. Even loaded up with heavier equipment, the bag held its shape well and didn’t feel flimsy or stressed during transport. Durability seems excellent so far. It feels like it should last a long time with normal gig and travel use. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. It’s definitely on the expensive side for what is essentially a transport bag. That said, if you’re carrying expensive DJ gear, the protection and organization probably justify it. Overall, great fit, versatile storage, excellent quality, professional appearance, good stability, strong durability, and a solid value for the money if you transport DJ equipment regularly. ... show more

  • Incredibly facile gear bag than can be instantly custom-fitted to your required configuration.
Size: Medium
This is the medium-size controller bag in the Gator Cases ICON Series forDJ gear and it is the most spectacular and sophisticated bag I've seen. I am not a DJ per se, but have two relatives who are and absolutely require such bags to protect expensive gear from damage moving from gig to gig. This is built to last out of material that will stand up to nearly anything you will encounter other than in a serious plane crash or being inside a tornado -- although I would expect most gear to survive the tornado inside this bag! There are hook and loop straps to secure gear and soft, but resilient, bumpers inside with hook and loop strips that you can configure to create custom sections for components to be cradled on all six sides: top, bottom, left, right, front and rear. There are many excellent and utilitarian attachment points inside & out. The are even hidden backpack straps to make carrying a heavily-laden bag more easily than with handles. While I am not a DJ, I often carry sensitive electronic & computer gear, self-powered speakers, recording equipment and video projectors, etc., when traveling. This particular medium DJ controller bag with its customization elements is a close to perfection for my needs as I could hope for. I created custom bins to fit my components, and I can tweak that configuration whenever I change devices. This bag is pretty expensive at $230, however it's a serious insurance policy against any damage to over $4,500 worth of gear that I routinely carry around. I'm not just concerned about catastrophic damage; carrying gear like this in most any other type of case subjects it to scratches and dents that are unavoidable, as those things get loaded in and out of vehicles and aircraft. The same principles apply to anyone who uses DJ controllers and similar audio gear. While there is a lot of space inside this bag, there are smaller & larger versions, even one for headphones and associated accessories that can clip to the controller bag at multiple points to firmly secure it. ... show more

  • Great middle ground between soft bag and flight case Great middle ground between soft bag and flight case
Size: Large
Picked up the large version of this Gator ICON bag to carry a full-size DJ controller, and it hits that sweet spot I was looking for — noticeably more protective than a typical soft bag, without going all the way to a heavy flight case. First impression out of the box, it feels solid. The semi-rigid construction holds its shape, so it doesn’t sag or collapse like cheaper bags. The exterior feels durable, and the interior lining is soft enough that I don’t worry about the controller getting scratched up. The customizable foam system takes a bit of setup, but it’s worth the effort. Once dialed in, the controller sits tight and doesn’t shift around at all during transport, which gives a lot more confidence compared to loose-fitting bags. Before buying, it’s worth checking your controller’s dimensions against the interior — 31.5" wide, 17" deep, and 4" tall. Most popular large controllers like the Pioneer DDJ-FLX10, DDJ-1000, and DDJ-REV7 fit with room to spare, but taller units like the Rane Four (4.08") are right at the limit or slightly over. Where this bag stands out is in actual use. I had to carry it a few blocks and up a short flight of stairs, and being able to switch between handles and backpack straps made a difference. It’s still a large bag, but those details make it manageable in real-world situations. That said, once fully loaded, it’s not exactly light. With a large controller inside, you’re probably in the ~20–25 lb range, so while it’s lighter than a flight case, it’s not dramatically lighter when you’re carrying it for a while. Also worth mentioning — this sits in a price range where you might start considering a full hard case instead. For me, the flexibility, lighter build, and easier handling still make this the better option, but it’s something to think about depending on how rough your transport conditions are. Overall, if you’re gigging and want real protection without dragging around a full flight case, this is a very practical way to carry your controller. ... show more

  • The Grocery Bag Era Is Over The Grocery Bag Era Is Over
Size: Large
The mixing board I originally had in mind exceeded the interior nest dimensions, but a full pedalboard fit without complaint, and that versatility is part of what earns this case consideration beyond its DJ origins. The customizable foam block system takes a few minutes to configure but holds gear firmly once set with no shifting during transport. Construction is serious - 1000D nylon exterior, semi-rigid frame, ultra-soft red tricot interior, and rubber bumpers at the corners. The red interior against the black shell looks sharp when you open it, which matters less than the protection but is a nice detail. Backpack straps, shoulder strap clip, padded handles, mesh front pocket, and a serialized QR ID tag round out a feature set that covers real-world gigging scenarios. It is heavy before you load it, and fully loaded it is a commitment. At this price you are paying for longevity and protection. A pedalboard worth real money deserves better than a grocery bag and a cable tangle. Learned that the hard way. ... show more

  • Extremely good case. Excellent quality. Highly protective. Extremely good case. Excellent quality. Highly protective.
Size: Large
This is a high quality item. I would say this is definitely top of the line when it comes to cases. It has extremely good protective qualities. It is a hard case with padding that is very thick. It also has several storage compartments with a very good zippers, and zipper pulls. This is professional quality. It is compatible with large DJ control boards, or similar types of devices. It has velcro padding blocks that are customizable as far as the location is concerned. They can be moved around and put wherever you need them to be to add additional security to your control board. It has a very nice look to it. It is versatile and able to store or transport expensive equipment. I think it is a fair value for the money. Especially when all things are considered about this. It has a very nice handle. It also has the ability to carry this with the straps that it came with like a backpack. It has straps on the inside to hold the control board down. There wasn't anything that I could find that I didn't like about it. I'm giving it five stars. ... show more
