I use this cat pad for the feral cat that comes to eat at our place. The cat jumps up on a box I have on our porch and waits for me to feed her. I put this heating pad out there for her to have a warm place to sit. She seems to love it! I have an automatic feeder that gives her food in the middle of the night and she often just lays out there on the warming pad even when she's done eating. The fabric is nice and soft and I bring it in and wash the cover every few days. The pad gets nice and warm even when it's cold outside. I ordered this mat to be used in an outdoor cat house. So far this mat alone has sufficiently heated the enclosure for our PNW fall/early winter. I love how the timer allows for our cats to stay comfortable when we are away. Great product, would order again.

My 19 year old cat enjoys laying on it even when it’s off. The settings are easy to switch between, and the adjustable timer function is nice. The cover is machine washable and easy to take off and put back on. I do think it gets too hot for my cat, though. If it is set any higher than 80, he will get up and move off of it after about 20 min to lay somewhere else. ... show more

I live in the north east, but my kitty is from the south. This really saved the day. She’s warm and it works perfectly. You can set the temperature and you can also set how long you want it to stay on for without having to worry about overheating.

I spent a lot of time sorting through reviews of pet friendly heating pads that would make our 20 year old cat happier. I wanted to find something that fit the following criteria: waterproof, industrial strength cord, easily adjustable/visible heat settings, auto off timer, and had reliable temperature control (does not overheat). This heating pad is awesome. I put it in a pillowcase and placed it in the middle of the bed. Even in the highest setting it isn’t too warm. It is just barely warm to the touch, so much so that I thought it wasn’t working. Once I held my hand on it for a few minutes I noticed it was the perfect temperature. On the highest setting it feels like lukewarm bath water, which is ideal for safety reasons. I believe this heating pad has contributed significantly to her quality of life. She seems to be in less pain, is more relaxed, and is overall happier. In all honesty I think this has extended her time here. ... show more

    • Getting Tired of These False Photos

I am frustrated with the misleading photos of products on Amazon. This practice of deception needs to stop. While I understand that I can use a tape measure to assess the size, it is unfair when I see images of a full-size cat and dog on the heating bed. Some may argue that I should have done this beforehand, but then what is the purpose of having product pictures at all? Perhaps Amazon should consider using a non-photo's on it's site then? Most of the photos are deceitful anyway. Now, onto the actual review. I purchased the medium-sized heating bed based on a picture that portrayed it as thick and fluffy, again with a comparison to a full-size dog and cat. However, the bed turned out to be disappointing. I would suggest opting for a cheap $3 heating pad instead and placing it under the cushions of a cat bed. This way, the cushions can be machine washed and are more capable of handling pet stains. Moreover, for timers, you can easily find affordable outdoor timers for Christmas lights at any Dollar store. In conclusion, do not waste your money on this product. There are plenty of other options available that are better, thicker, and much softer for your furry friend (or in my case, non-furry friend). ... show more
