Product worked great for a fish fry. We were able to cook walleye/perch fillets in ~2 minutes @ 375 F oil temp. The kettle took 1 gallon of canola oil- and the oil level was perfect for cooking. Very pleased with the purchase. Note that this unit does not have a ignitor on it- so make sure to have a long lighter or matches for igniting the flame for cooking. Additional notes: We were able to connect the included gas regulator/hose/fittings to a standard 20# propane tank and the oil heated up quickly when unit was turned on and ignited. Holds 1 gallon of canola (or similar) oil Kettle and basket were aluminum. They were really light weight and easy to use ... show more

Works great, easy to setup and use for frying fish. I ran the burner without the pot over it for about 10 min to burn off any residual oils from the manufacturing process and didn't get any soot on the outside of the pot when cooking.
