I haven't put this mask to work yet because I don't have a current project, but with close examination it looks good. It seems well-made, with a nice full-face shield, good silicone perimeter sealing, secure head straps, an activated charcoal main filter, and 2 sets of included cotton filters. Two "tear-off" shield covers are also included. The listing says the mask is also compatible with a variety of other filter types, and is fitted with sockets on either side for dual filters. Simply remove the threaded plugs and attach via the bayonet fittings. The mask came with the main charcoal "nose filter" and the two sets of cotton filters mentioned already. Those pink cotton filters would be best used for non-volatile particulates like sawdust, grinding and polishing debris, etc. For anyone involved in woodworking, painting, paint stripping, solvent use, insecticide application, operations around smoke or chemical vapors, or any application where volatile substances are involved, good breathing protection is vital to safety and health. The listing claims this mask is also effective against nuclear particulates, but I hope I don't have to confirm that! Interesting note: My state is currently plagued by huge wildfires, and a mask like this could literally be a lifesaver for those caught in fire and smoke areas, or even those fighting the fires. Mine came in a box picturing a different mask - one with the dual side filters - so I don't know whether they use the same box for multiple models or if mine was just mis-boxed. It was nicely-packaged in a drawstring storage pouch, and all parts were included, but there were no instructions included. For some basic stuff around the house this mask works just fine. I'm about to epoxy the garage floor and this does the trick. A good seal and harness with multiple adjustment points. If there's a nuclear war I don't think I'll make it anyway, so I'm not too worried about the NBC capabilities.

May possibly work as a respirator around paint projects. Can see through face shield okay. Straps uncomfortable for adjusting, pulls on hair. I would not order again.

I got this for some projects I want to tackle in the near future and having a good seal is imperative for what I’ve got planned. And this doesn’t disappoint! I used to be a volunteer firefighter and know what a good fit on a mask is, especially in the context of a raging fire, and this mask truly exceeded my hopes and expectations. I can tell that it’s going to provide excellent, completely sealed-off protection with a five-point harness that adjusts well for good personal fit. We tried it on my daughter as well. She has a very different head shape than me and it fit just as well on her. And the quick-release mechanisms for the adjustable straps work like a charm. Just lift and the straps instantly release. The mask when tightened is very comfortable (as comfortable as something like this can be), the mask is very clear and easy to see through, and I love that the set comes with extras. Very well made mask, easy to use and setup. Straps are very secure when in use on your face. Good price for this product.

    • Useful for garden spraying
Not sure I would trust a 30 dollar gas mask in the event of nuclear war as advertised by the seller But I do think this is great for home use when spraying pesticides or painting. Or for any use where you could be exposed to vocs or other harmful aerosols. While the filtration is good according to the specs, this can be warm on your face and a bit hard to breath e through for very long. Adjusting it to fit properly was trial and error but I was able to get what felt like a good seal. ... show more
