Where do I begin? This purchase was based on a need to house a boat from salt air. As it turns out, the GarveeLife 12x20 ft Metal Carport that we bought tends to float with 20 mph winds, doesn't weigh more than 330 lbs and will crumple with the least amount of pressure to its sides or roof material. Each panel weighs 4 lbs at the most and there are over 60 of them, The manual is 110 pages with at least 4 tasks per page. The vendor's product page says it must be assembled by 4 people in 18 hours? The fact is, each panel comes wrapped in a ultra thin coating of vinyl (see photo) that has to be removed or if you leave it on, will dry up and look like an old weathered building. It took us at least 20 minutes per panel, over 6 days just to remove this vinyl coating by tediously pulling it off Every-One of the panels. The assembly involves hundreds of screws of various width and length and will make you say "What am I doing?". With just two of us working on average 4 hours a day, it took us 17 days to complete the build of this "floating" Enclosed Car Port. Some redeeming aspects of their design allow you to move the C2 window panels to different locations as they are the same size as the W5 wall panels and the side door can be inserted on either side. They give you inferior assembly tools like the Nut Setter for the roof screws and a drill bit for drilling out mostly mis-aligned screw holes. We had to add interior OSB, supporting 2x4 framing to the sides and upper trusses to get the weight high enough to make the garage stay in place and sturdy on our concrete driveway. The creaking metal paneled garage is basically just the "skin" now for the building interior. We think a high wind of over 30 mph may destroy it. The manufacturer recommends additional sandbags, concrete, and guy wires in windy areas. This will not stop it from collapsing under wind pressure. For the money and time already spent I could have built it out of sturdy wood much faster. As much trouble the manufacturer went to make this product, you would think there would be better support (parts), better delivery packaging (damaged) and instructions that were not thought out so poorly. Vendor support answered their phone but they do not have spare parts if anything is missing or damaged from shipping. So if you're looking for a severe head and back ache over the good part of a month, have an engineering degree and just want a "something' solution that could be blown away, then this is your project. ... show more
