    • Save yourself a ton of time

First off, I wanted to love this carport. Construction seems straight forward with these kits but the instructions are quite vague with absolutely no literature, they solely use images. The good: I finally got the structure up and sturdy. The bad: this project took 3 days when it should have been a single day, this was due to many issues such as (instructions, the shrink wrap around every single panel which takes more time to remove than installing the panels themselves, and also parts that were from what appears to be other kits.) The really bad: customer service. I contacted customer service several times and waited hours on end for response. I told them the support braces appeared to be from another kit as they were 2 inches too long and the customer service team responded with (ok, let me know how the installation goes) instead of offering to send me the correct braces. The ugly: once again instructions and the shrink wrap(peeling this off is the most time consuming part of the process). The instructions have you lag bolt down the frame to the cement before prepping the side tarps (which renders them absolutely useless). So I fully left the tarp portions off. I’d love to give this a better rating but in good conscience I can not as I’d rather be constructive in helping garvee improve its customer service and product itself. ... show more

Seems to be pretty sturdy. We live in a very windy area and have installed more support pieces due to this. It would be fine for a completely flat and general weather area, but that's not us. Giving 4 stars for very short screws and it could have more corner supports.

Initial frame part goes up easily but I have a lot of concerns about the strength of the structure. There is no way this supports 11,000 pound. I weigh 175 and would never hang from one of the supports. I doubt it will last a Wisconsin winter...TBD. all posts and ceiling panels are very thin steel. Every ceiling panel is covered by an obnoxious, hard to remove plastic layer. It took more time to remove this from all of the panels then it did to put together the carport. I wish I would have bought something nicer..... This is cheap ... show more
