Well, I'm disgusted, which means it's working. I do not even want to know where all the tiny fungus gnats stuck to these came from! I'm not the World's Best Plant Mom. But I like plants. I noticed a couple of my plants were attracting tiny gnat things, so I researched it and discovered that overwatering, or bringing in plants from other places, can cause fungus gnats to thrive. GROSS. And possibly deadly to plants. Bummer. Naturally, I also researched what to do about it, and found that sticky traps work as well as anything, so I bought a set of these and set them up. They're pretty easy to assemble, although buyer beware - the yellow leaf things are sticky on BOTH sides. For some reason, I didn't expect that. But it worked out. With minimal sticking to my fingers, I got the sticky leaves situated in the green plastic stakes. It took a while to see progress, but eventually I saw more than I wanted to. It's a good thing that this kit comes with extra yellow sticky leaf thingies, because unfortunately I have a need for a second round of sticky-trapping the little buggers! Overall, these are doing their job, and I think they would work well for most smaller plants. Not sure if a larger size is available, but if you have a bigger plant with a lot more soil, you might need to use more than one in a plant, look for a larger sticky trap, or try a more aggressive method.

These yellow sticky butterflies are what you need if you are fighting fungus gnats-they work. (Or I should say they help-lol. Usually, if you have a lot of plants like I do you it’s a multi-step process.) But these are gigantic. If you have smaller (6 in pots or less) plants or plants with dense foliage they are going to be tricky to use. I only take one side of the paper off and slide them down right next to the pot itself to try to preserve the plant leaves. Or you could trim them a bit smaller. But they def catch those little suckers.

I could not get rid of fruit flies. House is kept clean, I bleached my drains, moved indoor plants outside etc. I bought traps specifically for fruit flies - no luck. Finally I placed these traps in a jar that has about an inch of apple cider vinegar and this is after two days. Gross... but thrilled! Inexpensive, easy to use and comes with a lot of the yellow refills. Definitely recommend!

I was tired of mixing the smelly apple cider vinegar, sugar, soap and water "trap" for gnats and decided to give this product in my kitchen to trap gnats. I am not using the stake in a plant. I simply placed a stake in a small vase in my kitchen window. I thought that I only had a couple of gnats in the house but within hours, five gnats were stuck on the stake! I had my doubts when I opened the package to see the cheaply made stakes but I am pleased to report that the yellow tape strips work FAR better than any other method. I am now never bothered by gnats, the inexpensive stakes take care of them before they can get to me!

I love these because they are the perfect size and do just what they're supposed to do. They are the best for catching the little gnats that sometimes appear around my rubber tree and ruby red plants.

I’ve had them out 1-2 wks now. Had what I thought was fruit flies around my plants. Couldn’t catch them with the apple cider vinegar so I decided to give this a shot. At this price, what the heck, I was at my wit’s end. I thought I had some flies. These things are catching an abundance of tiny flies. Fungal gnats I guess. I have already had to change out strips full of tiny flies. Excitedly surprised!! I’m going to have to find refill strips to have on hand.

These work great for potted plants & fruit areas. They attract & trap fruit flies AND even house flies! I hate flies & do everything possible to keep them from coming into the house. The couple that did get in were caught on these traps. I think they are great & will continue to buy them.
