Easy assembly and decent packaging. Unfortunately there was damage on corners of certain parts comings out the box.. Where they ended up in assembly was pretty inconspicuous. Very bottom corners. After assembly I touched up with marker. You can't notice it but the fiberboard is exposed there. I'll hit with a little shellac to lock that up and it's worth 4 stars. The zip tie anti topple is pretty cool. First time I seen those. I would recommend and purchase again from this company. ... show more

We purchased a number of pieces from this collection - a corner desk, a return, two 3-drawer file cabinets, two 2-drawer lateral file cabinets, and one bookcase. Pros: - Assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow. - Adjustment features are built in, so it's easy to level the drawers and get them to fit together well. - The assembly hardware was pre-sorted into small bags. The many different screws, fasteners, dowels, etc. were easy to identify. - Furniture is very nice-looking (better than the pictures). Love the Natural Cherry finish! - All pieces can be fastened together or set up separately (except the Return, which must connect to the desk). - All pieces include nicely finished pass-through holes for cords, as well as hooks to keep the cords up off the floor; the Return also includes a USB hub. - The drawers open and close smoothly. - These pieces are heavy enough to feel sturdy, without being too monsterously heavy to move. Cons: - There were a few small bits of assembly hardware missing, and the USB hub did not work. However, the company was very courteous and sent replacement parts quickly. - Because of the space reserved for cords to pass through, the drawers are shallow (13" deep). I couldn't find a drawer organizer small enough to fit the pencil drawer. ... show more

These are wonderful shelves. They're quite heavy and look like they were made out of solid wood. Assembly is fairly easy and out of lack of family interest , I assembled 4 of them by myself. The four shelves arrived on a pallet. Three of them were in perfect shape however, the fourth had been damaged by a forklift driver. The F.L. Driver managed to destroy one of the side boards. The Bush instructions provided a phone number for damage problems. I called that number and after a short conversation, they shipped a new side board which arrived in 4 days. Good heavy material. A little bit confusing to assemble, but after a couple of 'undos', you'll be on your way to having a nice case. Word to the wise, be sure to place a large towel or bed spread on the floor to build this case, because it will scratch and scratch easily too. Having soft material large enough to place on the floor to cover the pieces from being scratch is something highly advisable. This case was perfect for our needs. We had a corner that was 27 inches wide. The typical case is 29 inches wide. We looked for a case that was 24 to 27 inches wide, but didn't find anything that worked for us. So we found this 15 inch wide case and it fit all the electronic components we used in the bedroom, but one. The Blu-ray player was just a hair too wide to fit inside on the shelve. We ended up putting the Blu-ray player on top of the case. Everything thing workout for us. A good purchase. ... show more

I have bought mostly Sauder furniture. I believe the quality of this furniture to be better. My husband usually puts together the furniture (desks, loftbeds, cabinents, etc.) I have occasionally taken on easier items, like this bookshelf. The furniture color itself was very nice. There was a couple of little nicks but nothing really noticible once it was put together. It was so easy to put together by myself. When I was attaching the second long side I used a box and a pillow to prop it up until I was able to secure it in the proper place. All I needed was a Phillips screwdriver for the main pieces and a hammer for the back piece. Instructions are easy to follow and the assembly is not complicated at all. The thing I liked most was how thick the shelves are. Very sturdy and since the bookshelf itself is narrow, you can easily put thicker books on the shelf. I wish I needed another one because it looks that good and is very functional. ... show more

This is a SOLID piece of furniture -- the delivery man was struggling, as it was an 89 lb. package. The unit looks great after assembly and I think will serve us well. The only real issue we had (and I think another reviewer has reported the same thing) is that the holes on the bottom piece were not placed correctly; luckily, though, I was able to drill replacement holes in the correct positions and use those. From the directions I surmise they sell several variations using the same pieces, and I imagine we got a bottom piece drilled for another version. A much more trivial issue is that one small plastic cap (a cover for the pieces that support the shelves) was missing, though they did give us two extra nails and an extra plastic hole cover. From what I can tell, the lack of the plastic cover doesn't affect the stability of the shelf. ... show more

What's great about this kit bookcase is that we were able to adapt it to my narrower space fairly easily. It was packed well and the instructions were clear. I asked my carpenter to cut it to fit into the twelve inch wide space next to my rosewood bookcases. He was able to do the modification in under two hours and then added some screws and glue for extra strength. As the photo shows, it blends in well, turning an empty space into a special category bookshelf. ... show more
