  • Hunting must have
My son really likes this product. He and his grandfather were able to communicate while hunting. He says that it really improved his hunting experience. He shot one first day out so we will have to update next season. Must have for all hunters. Easy to track each person’s location. And I felt like he was safer. ... show more

  • Nice unit
I received this unit quickly. It set-up easily and the menu options are easier to use than the 610 unit I am replacing.

Wish a DC charger would have been included

  • Garmin is on top of the GPS game
I have had many Garmin products in the past. I love their Fenix watch series and have grown quite used to their software for managing devices. I was quite pleased to find that the 755t fits into that ecosystem as well. There are near daily updates for software and maps. Some may find this annoying. I however (as a software developer) am please to see that they are actively improving the tool constantly. I subscribed to their birdseye map service (cheap per year 🤷♂️ so why not). This adds much higher res GOOGLE like topo maps for areas that you plan to trek to. You do have to download it on your computer then push it across to your GPS. Walked outside...and there was my house and land and outbuildings in pretty current and great detail. The device seems incredibly accurate. I love that i can get weather information directly on it. I love that it doubles as a backup radio for other users in my group with this handset. Perfect for "every thing carried must provide more than one purpose"...this satisifies that requirement and then some. The ability to preplan routes and get voice prompts for when you are on a long adventure...and getting sleepy is awesome. I do suggest that you carry some backup batteries and a solar array for your back pack just to be safe. ... show more

  • Research,you get basic items,
I liked this for the 3 days I had it. I went to turn it on,then black and grey bars came on top of the screen. It would not turn on. I had to call manufacture and trouble shoot the issues. I had to send it in for a replacement which took 2 weeks and disappointed not able to use it durning hunting season. Over all the features are good for all things to do. Research before you buy more apps! ... show more

  • I don't leave home without it.
When I bought this it seemed overpriced and I thought I'd regret it. I was wrong. It's not the best radio for indoor use but that's not what I bought it for, outside it works flawlessly. Paired with the onX Hunt Chip this radio/GPS unit is perfect for hunting, hiking and many other outdoor activities. ... show more

  • Rino 755t
I recently upgraded to this Rino 755t. I love it . Easier to use. I hunt and walk long distances . I can hear my friends with other Rinos and see their locations. I still have the old Rino 530 HCx for my son. I love the Rino series radios.

  • Good idea, horrible implementation.
I purchased to be able to communicate with family members while out hunting in remote areas. The others all have older Rino models that seem to work well together. While nothing's perfect, the biggest issue I saw with the older Rinos was the positioning of other hunters wasn't updated frequently, but it was acceptable. I would have thought when buying this unit that Garmin would have the kinks from the older Rinos worked out, but it appears they've gone in the opposite direction. The first problem, the 755t had trouble adding the other Rino users as contacts. When radio contact is established, another Rino user is added as a contact and you can see their last reported position on your map - but it wasn't seamless with the 755t. We tried connecting for a solid 30 minutes before giving up on that feature and heading into the field. Ironically, the contacts started to work several hours later when we were miles apart. The other issue, which is the deal breaker is the constant crashing. I had the 755t crash on me while it was attached to my pack, and missed a radio call telling me to circle back. I wound up going quite a bit out of the way before looking at the 755, and noticing that the screen was frozen and the only way to fix this was to pull the battery on the unit. The unit crashed no less than 10 times in 2 days of use, most of the time requiring the battery to be pulled from the 755t. I was on the latest software rev, and tried resetting to factory defaults, clearing waypoints/tracks, etc. Nothing stopped this unit from failing...you could even say I spent the majority of the time in the field trying to get this to work properly. I got the unit replaced by Amazon, and the first thing the new unit did was crash on me 10 minutes out of the box. All I was doing was simply zooming out on the map, and the screen went dark. I'm returning this one too as I can't trust these in the field. Both units were updated to the latest software version using Garmin Express as well.. This is really a shame, I've been a loyal Garmin user for almost 20 years, I had an old GPSMap 60, multiple Forerunner units, currently wear a Tactix Delta with Applied Ballistics, and my go-to for the field is a Garmin Foretrex 601. I've probably had a dozen Garmin devices and never issues like this. I imagine their handheld GPS market must be in direct competition with the smartphone apps out there...they need to build a bulletproof handheld for the demanding user or just give up on handhelds and make watches. This product is unacceptable for field use. ... show more
