  • Makes you smarter
So I've had this watch for a few days and have pretty good grasp of it and it's features. I feel like this review will be pretty solid. It comes with 29 outdoor activities that you can add however you want for your preferences, my favorites is the tactical and hunting mode. The GPS corridinants function works really well outside only, but does not work in buildings I've tried various locations and the compass is easy to use. Battery life depends on how you use your watch but is the best bang for my buck I've still got, any technical functions like texting or alarms is set up in the app. The health portion of it is amazing, it lets you know so much about your self that you didn't know. Like how much oxygen flows threw your blood which really amazed me, it's changed a few of my habits just barely having it a week. I would recommend this watch to any outdoor enthusiasts. ... show more

  • Sturdy watch
I like that this watch is sturdy. Because of the line of work I do, I wanted something that wasn't going to break just by looking at it. The screen is resests which is perfect. You can get a screen protector if you want, but honestly you don't need it. It has a lot of awesome features and the one reason I bought this watch is because of how long the battery last on one charge. If you don't use the GPS, you can go 28 days without recharging it. But if you want to use the watch for workouts and exercises, you can go about 10 days on a single charge. ... show more

  • HIGH QUALITY BUT really complicated to use
I picked this watch because I owned had a 4th gen Apple Watch previously and was not happy with the battery life. The good thing about the Garman watch is I only needed to charge it every 28 to 30 days, depending on how much time I spent in the sun using its solar capability. This was probably the strongest benefit to having this watch. It keeps good accurate time, and it has a very easy to read the face. But what I did not like about the watch was how the user interface and navigation was set up. It's not touch and it uses the side buttons, which makes it incredibly difficult to set up a new track and save tracks. The only way I was able to interact with the watch successfully was through the companion application that ran on my iPhone. Otherwise, I had a very frustrating time using the watch for navigation purposes. The watch is very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time under very strenuous conditions, such as exercise or working. ... show more

  • Love this watch!
I’ve had the original Instinct for the last few years which I loved, but was looking for a bit of an upgrade and something new so went with this! It’s at a great price now since the second version has been released and has some more capabilities that the original Instinct didn’t have. I love the blue and think it looks great too. In my opinion, any of the Instinct models are the way to go! The watch offers so much for a reasonable price. ... show more

  • Great if you know what you want!
I have been a smartwatch user for several years, starting with the Moto360, then Samsung Galaxy watch series. So I know what I want out of a watch... Notifications of texts, calls and appointments and exercise tracking. This watch is superior in every way to my previous watches. By simplifying the display (no super amoled color display) the watch has tremendous battery life. I charged it 4 days ago and still have 23days of battery remaining (that is without using any power saving features). The phone notifications are easy to set up with the Garmin Connect app. The fitness tracking works great. Super happy with this purchase! ... show more

  • Really wanted to love this
This watch is a letdown. Lots of the advertised features flat out dont work, move IQ? yea right, activity reminders? not really, downloading new watch faces? good luck getting the watch to connect with the Garmin store app, which by itself is stupid considering that you need two completely separate apps to get the full functionality of the watch. And speaking of the app it just doesn't control let you control most of the functions from your phone, just a few basic options, and that is made more frustrating by the fact that the watch itself is super hard to navigate. There is a ton crammed in there, but good luck changing the settings without watching tutorials. Apart from the things that don't work at all you got a host of things that work, but just not well. For example sleep tracking is a joke, it basically records the time you lay down, even if you were still up messing around on your phone. Funny thing the watch still detects your movement, and tells you hey, during the first hour of you sleep you were moving around a lot, could it be that you were not sleeping? i dont know, beats me!! The worse part though is detecting wake up time, because you can be moving around, making your coffee and recording steps, but the watch gives you an extra hour of sleep because why not. The watch itself looks good, from a distance that is, but upon closer inspection it does look like a $20 watch that you picked up from Wish when you felt like taking a chance. Now I can hear what you're thinking, function over form! but as we established above function is not this watch strongest point. Solar charging actually works, it does add some juice to the battery, and it's actually fun exposing the watch to the sun and watching these bars fill up, it was like a mini games that I enjoyed more than I should. But in reality solar charging is a gimmick, because the fine print says it needs DIRECT sunlight. Now I don't know about other people, but I walk with my arms are to the side, meaning that the stars have to literally align for the sunlight to directly hit my wrist. If you're one of those wrist-up walkers then by all means, you will love this thing. The battery life is legit btw, 24 solid days, just makes that solar feature less appealing ... show more

  • Nice, but big
This thing is the size of a men’s invicta for reference. I’m still working on learning functions, but it’s an improvement on my last Garmin. More features, etc. I did go with a different aftermarket band because the silicone irritates my skin when I sweat.
