I bought this because I work in construction and needed a smartwatch I could beat to heck without it getting damaged. I didn't want some giant device on my wrist to get caught on whatever may present itself. This watch certainly fits that bill. The watch has been beaten up submerged, covered in concrete. You name it. The watch has persevered. However, there are some drawbacks, which are necessarily a result of it's small form factor. For us old guys, the text is kind of small. It's also difficult to read in full sun (it's doable, just not great). My primary reason for getting this was to display text messages. Not even necessarily to respond to them-- just display messages as they arrive so I don't have to dig for/unlock my phone. However, due to the small form factor there is not much text displayed. You can scroll thru, but this is not touchscreen. You have to physically press a button to scroll. It doesn't sound like a big deal as you're reading this, but in practice it's really a pain. If this were $200 watch I'd likely buy a different smartwatch with a larger face (face, not case) that has touch and isn't a "rugged" design. However, for the price I will simply wear it until there is some catastrophic failure.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my Apple Watch. However being able to wear this watch which has the same features I regularly depended on my Apple Watch for without having to worry about daily battery charging has placed this watch on my arm almost every day without removal. Does everything I need and more, especially for a GPS guy who is also a watch guy. Love it so far.

Honestly I love this watch. It's been great, and if you don't have every single notification hooked up the battery actually lasts a decent amount of time. I easily get mine to last 5-7days before needing a new charge... the watch will say 2 days, but if you start clicking through stuff on the watch face it will tell you percentage and I can usually go till there is 10% left before needing a charge. Now if you want it to count machines at the gym this Is Not a watch for you... things like stair climbers, elliptical it struggles to catch and know that you are doing them... but for daily steps, running and free weights it does much better I feel! Not perfect im sure... but also love the sleep data and more. Over all very happy. Also I've had this watch since the beginning of May, and wanted solid data before leaving a review

I bought this watch to track my mountain bike rides and have them automatically upload to the Strava app. I now also use it to track my running, hunting, and weight lifting. I absolutely love all the data it collects aside from tracking activities. I especially love the ability to track with the app things like hydration, body weight, sleep quality, body battery, and training effect and load. I didn't want a watch like this for a long time until this year and now It's my favorite piece of gear for every day life as well as my sports activities and outdoor pursuits.

I love this watch. But don't waste your time on the solar. I spent the extra money and I have left outside in the sun and only gained 3%battery. Its not worth the money unless your in a survival situation but the question is. Is time and heart beat important when your trying to survive like shelter and water.. Either way I love this watch and as a mechanic it really holds up to its tough reputation. own for about 6 months and I have the same band and haven't scratched the screen. The plastic around the watch is showing some wear but in my perfection if it lasted 6 months it gets the thumbs up. Other watches did last last 2. I could ask for a few better feature but over all very happy with the this product

Pretty good watch. Battery life is excellent. It drops a lot faster if you are actually using the workout features, but still pretty good. I wear it almost 24/7 to help track my sleep and heart stuff so the fact that i dont need to charge it everynight like every other smart watch helps. I went with the tactical and realized i could have done without all the features in it and saved some money, but FDE is nice... Solar takes a long time to charge. An 8 hour detail in the sun, bought me a whole extra day of battery life! (Sarcasm). The battery life is awesome, so i could have avoided the solar too. The garmin software is pretty good to and the training programs and coaches are good too. Just not sure i needed the tactical. The only complaint i have is the learning curve with using the buttons and navigating the menus. Ive cancelled workouts i dont know how many times halfway through by hitting the wrong button, but it's a small gripe. If you dont need the bonus features or an obsession with fde, skip the tactical. If you arent taking it to a combat zone where you never have access to a wall outlet skip the solar.

I'm not an LT, so I can find my way..lol but if need be for a quick quick 8 or 10 digit grid look up.its easy and fast. Tracks my running workouts and heart rate when weight training.
