I went from an Instinct to this Fenix 5x plus. This watch is loaded with features and has the plus of being able to have different watch faces. I personally use mine for work and for hunting and golf. I plan on getting back into a workout regimen again also and enjoy bike riding. Garmin's app is wonderful and always works flawlessly. The glass is sapphire and very scratch resistant I'm a pretty big guy so I don't notice the overall size of this watch but be warned it is BIG. It is also a very classy looking watch for a fitness/smart watch. All texts, emails, media, ect comes across perfectly. Honestly I haven't even put my Instinct on after revving this one up. I can also listen to my music from Amazon with bluetooth headphones without my phone present. I highly recommend this watch and I am very pleased with this purchase. I went back and forth between this one and the new fenix 6 solar. The cost of this one along with the minimal gains in battery on the solar was the selling point for me. The referbished one came in same as brand new condition. This was an amazing buy.

Great watch, I can be happier. I purchase this watch on March 21, 2021 and received via FEDEX on March 23, 2021 A day earlier than promised. BE AWARE! You won’t be WOW!!! As you do when you open a brand-new product. The watch came in a Garmin box with “refurbish” logos all over the t sides. It came in a plastic bag, with two booklets and the charger cable, very simple. The watch was clean, with no damages, blemishes, cracks, dents, or scratches visible anywhere, like a brand-new watch. I reset the watch to its original factory settings following a video to ensure it was clear of any former information. The watch works and is working exactly as advertised with every app and widgets original pre-loaded from Garmin. I had a little trouble connecting the watch to my device and to my WI-FI network but I was able to worked out. I set the phone in few hours since I am new to Gaming watches. The watch is working fine and functioning as it supposed to be so far. It look great with some of my EDC set.

This is my second Garmin watch my last one just go really old and I used it a lot. Battery life is great. widgets seem to be accurate. Ease of use is great. Screen is exactly the size I was looking for. Looks great. (Just not the version I got does not have a touch screen, that's ok for me but be ware they have another version that is touch screen I believe.) Update - I have had this watch for a while now and I am still really impressed with it. It has held up really well to all the abuse I have put it through. I did have to replace the band but that was not a major issues. I wear this every day from when I get up to when I go to bed. I do like the notifications now it is set up the way I like them.

I spent a couple hours trying to get the watch to connect to my phone, then to mount to my computer through MTP. Neither worked. I contacted Garmin support and the support guy walked me through a bunch of troubleshooting steps, then offered to replace the device. Turns out, the software on the watch was so out of date, it wouldn't connect to my phone. I'm not sure why I couldn't get it to mount to my computer, but I imagine it is related. I'm sending it back to them via UPS tomorrow. Right now, this is a one star review, because DOA. But so far, the exchange process is pretty painless and Garmin support seems helpful and friendly, so if everything works out, I will update this review. ______________________________________________________________ Got the replacement back from Garmin. It took about a week, and they required a deposit to ship it out before they got the old one back. So, a little bit of a hassle. But, sure, that's fine. I get it. When I got it, it set up really easily. Everything was pretty intuitive. It took about 30 minutes to download and update the maps and software. Then it was just a matter of tweaking things to my preferences, which, to be honest, was really just me futzing around with it before putting it back to default. The watch is pretty awesome. I did a bunch of research into the best apps to use while mountain biking with it. Turns out, the stock Garmin MTB app is already great, and better or equivalent to all the other options out there, a lot of which require subscriptions. So, I would recommend this. I just wish they would keep the watches up-to-date when they are refurbishing them. Garmin software stops working if it gets too far out of date.
