I have worn the Garmin epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire Edition, 51mm continuously for approximately five months, and it is easily the best smartwatch or sports watch I have owned. I previously used Apple Watches and Polar devices, and I also tried the Apple Watch Ultra 2. However, I returned the Ultra 2 because I could not get comfortable with the frequent charging. I play outdoor pickleball four to five times per week and complete approximately four additional workouts weekly. That normally adds up to more than nine recorded activities and around 13 active hours each week. With that training volume, battery life was extremely important to me. The battery performance on the epix Pro has been outstanding. Depending on my settings and usage, I can get close to a month from a charge, even while regularly recording workouts. Not having to think about charging it every day is incredibly convenient. I can wear it continuously, track my activities, monitor recovery information, and sleep with it without constantly planning around the battery. The 51mm size has a large, masculine appearance, but the watch feels surprisingly comfortable. It does not feel nearly as heavy or distracting on my wrist as I expected. Despite its size, I often forget that I am wearing it, including during pickleball, strength training, and sleep. The exercise tracking and customization options are excellent for someone serious about training. I can configure activity screens and data fields around the information I actually care about instead of being forced into a basic layout. The display is clear, attractive, and easy to read during workouts. One feature I never expected to use regularly was the built-in flashlight. Somehow, it has become one of my favorite everyday features. I use it almost every night when walking to the bathroom. Its placement directs the light exactly where my wrist is pointing, allowing me to see without turning on the room lights and disturbing anyone else. It sounds like a small feature until you start using it, and then suddenly you wonder why every watch does not have one. The watch is expensive, but after five months of heavy use, I feel that the battery life, comfort, activity tracking, customization, display, and practical features justify the investment. I've had several Garmin watches, so am very familiar with its ecosystem and features and buttons, etc .. so for me, this Epix gen2 pro is very easy to use, clear display, excellent battery life, and does everything you need of a daily druver smart watch as well with custom and timely notifications, responses, sleep tracking, health metrics, and of course excels at things like running and hiking with its maps. Has every golf feature and built in courses that their top end golf only watches have. Battery life in the 51mm size is commendable, albeit maybfeel bulky in size if you are used to thin light smartwatches you have to charge every day. ... show more

This is a great all around smartwatch. The amount of health data you receive from this watch is more than you can ever imagine. It works as a great golf watch paired with the garmin golf app. Garmin battery life on their watches is unmatched as well. Awesome watch! I had the first generation Samsung Galaxy watch as well as the pebble watch that started the smart watch market. This is not even in the same ballpark as those watches. It’s a fitness tracker, navigator, message tracker, and so much more. I really wanted a watch that would also last much longer than Apple’s Watch that seems to last only a day or two max. This lasts up to a month with good use. Garmin really makes the best watch regardless of their new product line pricing increase. I upgraded to the Garmin epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire 51mm after wearing my Fenix 3HR daily for about 10 years, and the difference is honestly huge. Right away, the display stands out. The AMOLED screen is a massive step up—bright, sharp, and easy to read in any lighting. It makes everything from maps to notifications feel more modern and usable. Performance is another big improvement. Everything is faster and smoother, and there are way more features than what I was used to. The added health metrics, training data, and customization options are a big plus. Battery life has still been solid for me, especially considering the upgraded screen. It easily keeps up with daily use without feeling like you’re constantly charging it. Build quality is exactly what you’d expect from Garmin at this level. It feels tough, well-made, and like something that’s going to last just as long as my last one did. Overall, this felt like a true upgrade in every way.
