I bought this because I was tired of going through blue parrots. Sound is better, on every level. Battery life is great, charges fast. Connection distance is good, about 60-70ft is when I start to lose it Won’t connect to app after I had it connected but accidentally “forgot device” and been working but not with the app. Recently, it has been turning off randomly, and connecting again. Failure of the frame. The Earpiece broke off after I put it in my briefcase. Not as durable as the Blue Parrot headsets. Purchased and have used almost daily 6 months ago. I was looking for a true “over ear” headset after my Rand McNalley headset broke after about 2 years. The Garmin product was advertised as durable and solid. Upon inspection of the failure of the frame (near the screws) it was made with a similar hollow frame as the Rand McNally product, which led to stress points and eventually failure. *The white residue in the picture is a result of trying to super glue it back together for tomorrow morning. super glue did not work. Not worth $400+ after tax. I will try to reach Garmin to request a replacement as it is within the 12 month window, but I am very dissapointed it failed so quickly. Why not just make a metal frame for the price they are charging, or a more durable plastic? When Blue Parrot comes out with a true “over ear” headset that does not press on the ear (causing fatigue), I will switch back to their product. it was very comfortable before it broke. I would also not, the speaker “hissed” a bit compared to other headsets. it was mild, but started to be noticeable after a few months. Headset is reasonably comfortable. I mostly use it in the one ear format so that earpiece looked pretty bad as the black covering had separated and the foam was exposed (worked fine), The Headband snapped at the point the earpiece with the mic attaches after 14 month of use (bought September 2023, broke November 2024). I would have been more upset if I hadn't bought the warranty from Amazon. Since I was on the road when it broke I bought a BlueParrott with the same design (it's the 650, but I forget all the letters in the model number). The biggest advantage for the Garmin over the blueparrot is the multifunction button on the side. I listen to podcasts and audiobooks and I really really like the ability to play and pause without having to touch the screen on my phone. If traffic picks up or the weather is deteriorating it's huge to be able to stop the audio by touch without having to deal with a touchscreen. It was also easier to pair with my phone and laptop than the BlueParrot and is more comfortable. I didn't have to have the volume up near as high to understand people on the BlueParrott as I do on the Garmin (on the Garmin I was getting regular nags from iOS that my volume is too high). I think the audio is a bit clearer. I don't know which mic is better, no one I've talked to has complained about either one. ... show more
