  • Amazing sport's smartwatvh and a great dive computer
Color: Slate Gray Style: Descent G1
I'm going to the gym 3-4 times a week, pool swimming once a week, and occasionally do some recreational diving and hiking. The great thing a find about this watch is that it supports all of my activities in a great way, and they do not feel like an after thought! Day to day: It can track jogging and running in a pretty accurate way. It also contains different running plans that you can follow that i find refreshing. When weight lifting, it tracks the reps and can even guess what exercise is being preformed (this on is about 70% accurate). During hiking it can track your position using GPS, and show you some sort of map (Doesn't have any details beside a line that shows you your own rout) which i find great. The display for everything is good and informative, and it can be customized to your liking in most cases. The app integration is great, and it shows all the data you would probably expect from a high tier smartwatch these days including sleep tracking, calories counter, steps counter, HR analysis etc (You can also view most of this stuff on the watch itself). Recreational diving: This little guy is great, and the only real downside i can find is the lack of Air integration but due to the price, i guess its understandable. Had 13 dives with this guys so far, and so far so good. The screen is informative and on point. It has built in features like a compass, temperature, TTS, Customable warnings (Max depth etc), Safety stop auto timer, Entry and exist points coordination etc. Now this guy is small. Its size is of a normal casio watch, and i know some divers have issue with that but for me it works great. Had no issue viewing all the info even at 25 meters depth. The diving part has a specific app of its own and its fine. Nothing special bout it. I just wish it had a way of integrating easly with SSI & PADI apps, since i track all of my dives there (SSI in may case), and like transporting dives from one app to the other would make my life a bit easier =) ... show more

  • Everything I wanted in a watch
Color: Slate Gray Style: Descent G1
My battery lasts approximately 21 days; however if you use any GPS features or log activities then your battery life will drain faster. This watch and the app are incredibly user friendly and I have had no issues. I haven't taken this on any deep dives but I will attest to it's durability in the shallow dives I've been on and also it's tolerance to bleach. I work at an aquaculture job where I regularly handle bleach and have thankfully never experienced any issues. Perfect watch for water sports as I can also log any kayaking or SUP trips I take; however, I do have trouble logging rock climbing activities with the watch. It logs my sleep with relative accuracy, sometimes when I am laying in bed scrolling on my phone it believes that I am lightly sleeping but I didn't purchase the watch for 100% accurate sleep cycle measurements. ... show more

  • First computer- worked great!
Color: Powder Gray Style: Descent G1
I just bought this as my first dive computer- used it on a recent trip for 4 dives. It was great! Easy to use, worked as expected, and was very excited to be able to have my own gear for managing the dive, like safety stop time and keeping track of my depth. My friend who’s a tech diver liked it so much she’s going to get it for herself too- so it’s good regardless of your level! Plus the price point makes it an achievable investment. ... show more

  • Great dive computer with apps to transfer information easily
Color: Powder Gray Style: Descent G1
Bought this for the dive computer and have been pleasantly surprised at the ease of SUMM using not just the dive component, but also the workouts, sleep and walking monitors! Amazing value for the price. I have a very small wrist and the watch fits well and doesn’t look huge on me.

  • Does everything in a nice, daily wearable package.
Color: Slate Gray Style: Descent G1
I've had this about a month and used it for swim, bike (indoor / outdoor), run (road / trail), kayak, yoga, and dive: Pros: Compared to my Fenix 5x this watch is much lighter, smaller, and more comfortable. I have never been able to sleep in my Fenix as it caused my wrist to break out in a rash. So far, I've been able to wear this one probably about 60% of the time during the night--getting the key recovery and training impact data I've always needed for Ironman training. In dive mode, this watch works really well and has a display with all the paramaters you'll need. Also, this watch tracks heart rate underwater--and seems to be reasonably accurate (based on my RPE, anyway). I really like that feature as I've never been able to comfortably wear chest strap HR monitors. Neutral: Battery life doesn't seem to be nearly as long as it estimates it is--it will tell you it has something like 20+ days of battery when you charge it, but then when you go do a few hours of exercise it's down to 70-80%. Still great as watches go--and of course varies tremendously by GPS and training usage. So, I wouldn't say the battery life, GPS acquisition/accuracy, or any other features either stand out or fall short of the norm for a modern watch. Same goes for the features--wrist heart rate tracking, respiration rate, etc. Those are all pretty standard on modern Garmin products and many other brands as well and all seem to be on par with other watches (Garmin, apple, Suunto, etc...) as far as their usability and accuracy. I don't expect a sports-first watch to be on par with Apple when it comes to bling or use for non-sports based activities (like reading text messages / email, 'closing your circles'--whatever that means, etc.), but I have a phone for all the other stuff--and kind of like that I can opt out of the barrage of messages and notifications when I'm focusing on my training. So, I'd also rate it's use in the smartwatch category as maybe a bit sub-par for the cost, but adequately meeting the needs that I want it for (just getting text messages when I'm not training). Downsides: My biggest complaints so far are that I REALLY REALLY miss the maps I have on my Fenix and can't believe they didn't integrate even basic garmin base maps into this watch! It sucks for trail running and hiking and falls way below the competition here. I think that's a pretty significant oversight, so loses a star for that. On the app front--having Garmin Dive app separate from Garmin Connect app is weird, I wish they'd just integrate those somehow. Also, for some reason once you've paired this watch with one phone during its setup it seems to entirely lose the 'pair with phone' function from its menu--I scoured every menu I could find on the watch to pair with my back-up phone and also went to Garmin's user manual. Whatever the use manual thinks is there just... isn't. Pretty irritating as this also seems like something that's pretty basic and should be more user-friendly. Also, for those of us who dive occasionally and not all the time--it's worth noting that this is TRULY a dive-first watch. So, some of the dive settings are pretty hard wired into places where they're kind of in the way if you'd prefer to move them to the background when not on vacation and back to the top of menus when you are on a dive trip. Overall: For the price, I'm really happy with this watch and glad to have a watch that covers all my sports. ... show more
