Purchased this for our garage door because the old one was broken. It was easy to assemble and it comes with everything you need to install it. The cable is pretty strong and overall it works really well. It looks fantastic.

    • Poor design and unsuitable locking system
I returned this item. The handle would not allow for the plate which the cables attach to to make a complete ¼ turn, which I needed for my application. A couple of the mounting holes did not line up perfectly, but that could be fixed with a drill or file. The handle could only be turned with the key in it. This made it impossible to unlock the garage door, then take the key out, and still allow the spring latches to engage. For example, if you wanted to leave the garage door unlocked all day, but still be able to open & close the door throughout the day and have the latches engage when in the closed position, this cannot be done without the key remaining in the handle. ... show more

    • No easy to follow instructions
Assembly instructions not in package. Have to refer to the product description on Amazon. Even still those were not great. Also was missing the second screw for the handle. Other qualm is that you can’t remove the key without returning it to the lock position. Kit gets the job done though.

    • Unusual key will not come out in the unlocked position

Two problems with this type of T-handle the key does not come out in the unlocked position and if you try to open the door with the very long key, it can hit the header as it did in a in tilt up conversion that we put it on. The other problem is if your door is thicker than an inch and 5/8 this will not work. You have to purchase additional longer screws. They do not come in the kit. ... show more
